  • Patent number: 6227605
Abstract: An operating system is used for hydraulic convertible top locking systems in retractable roof convertibles. A control unit has a control piston which is loaded in one axial direction by the hydraulic driving unit and in the opposite axial direction by a mechanical pressure spring arrangement. The control piston is restrictedly guided in the circumferential and axial direction in a housing by a control contour.

  • Patent number: 6202993
Abstract: Self-pumping hydropneumatic shock strut with internal level regulation for motor vehicles with a work cylinder which is filled with oil and acted upon by pressure by at least one gas cushion arranged in a high-pressure chamber which acts as a spring. The work cylinder is divided into two work spaces by a work piston carried by a hollow piston rod. The work piston has a piston pump which is driven by the spring movements and delivers oil from a low-pressure chamber in the work space connected with the high-pressure chamber. The pump cylinder of the piston pump is formed by the hollow piston rod. A hollow pump rod which is fastened to the work cylinder and carries a suction valve at its front end penetrates into the piston rod and the bore of the hollow pump rod is connected with the low-pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 5338085
Abstract: The invention relates to a folding top for motor vehicles, having a top frame which comprises lateral top supports and a rear hoop. The top has a storage position of the top in an associated top box, into which it can be lowered by folding back the upright top supports about a main axis. The top frame has an articulation, spaced relative to the main axis, of the lateral legs of the rear hoop on the frame members which are jointly moved via the top supports, whereby the rear hoop is displaced backwards relative to the main axis during the lowering process, and having a rearward widening of the top box behind the top box aperture into which the rear hoop projects when the top is lowered.
