  • Patent number: 9867890
Abstract: An apparatus for inspecting empty containers in order to detect dirt therein is disclosed. A radiation source generates exciting radiation, and the exciting radiation is directed onto the inner wall of a container and excites dirt to be detected in such a way that the dirt emits luminescent radiation. At least one device detects the luminescent radiation emitted by the dirt, and another device analyzes the detected luminescent radiation. Also disclosed is a corresponding method for inspecting empty containers in order to detect dirt therein.

  • Patent number: 9569833
Abstract: The torque which is required to open a plastic screw closure which is screwed onto a bottle is determined without contact by the rotation position of the screwed-on plastic screw closure in relation to the bottle being established. The rotation position is established by evaluating an image on the basis of a mark on the bottle and a mark on the screw closure. Ventilation slots which interrupt the turns of the screw thread on the bottle neck can be used as the mark on the bottle, and a predetermined breaking point on a securing ring of the screw closure can be used as the mark on the screw closure.

  • Patent number: 8538714
Abstract: In order to test the integrity of products in containers, several characteristics of the products are detected with physical measuring methods and a good-bad signal is produced on the basis of the measuring results, for which purpose several of the measuring results are placed in relation to each other, which can consist in the following: the deviations of the individual measuring results from a reference value, optionally after weighting and standardization are added up and the sum is compared to a threshold value. The measuring results can also form a multidimensional area in which one or several boundary surfaces separate the good value areas from the bad value areas.

  • Patent number: 7727567
Abstract: To establish the integrity of a product located in a container a given feature of the product in the container is determined by means of a first measurement method in which a first physical property of the product is ascertained, the given feature is additionally ascertained at least directly or by means of a second measurement method which is based on a second physical property which is different from the first physical property, and the values obtained by means of the two measurement methods of the given feature are compared. If the product is a drink in a bottle and if the given feature is the fill level, the first measurement method can consist of the fill level being measured by means of absorption of an X-ray beam, and the second measurement method can consist of the change effected by the bottle in the resonant frequency of a high-frequency oscillating circuit being measured.

  • Patent number: 7232026
Abstract: The apparatus serves to distribute a random stream of items into several lanes in which the items are transported individually one after the other. The apparatus has a transport device for the items, wherein the transport device has one or more driven conveyor belts and side rails as well as a lane divider. The lane divider has at least one movable divider which divides the stream of transported items. A middle divider can project against the direction of transport and side dividers can be set back staggered. In an embodiment, the lane divider has a frame to which the dividers are attached. The apparatus also has a device for driving the lane divider, so that the at least one divider carries out a back-and-forth movement in the direction of transport and/or transversely to it.

  • Patent number: 7106827
Abstract: The invention related to a device for examining filled containers for foreign bodies. In an embodiment, the device for examining filled containers for foreign bodies has a transport apparatus for transporting the containers individually in succession in a row on a plane of transport, at least one X-ray source which emits X-rays in a predetermined direction, and an apparatus for recording the X-rays after they have passed through the containers. In an embodiment, the direction in which the X-rays are emitted from the X-ray source is inclined by between 10° and 60° to the plane of transport. In an embodiment, two X-ray sources are provided, namely one arranged above and one below the plane of transport. In an embodiment, the X-ray source is positioned such that the ray course is approximately tangential to the maximum slope of the bulge of the container bottom.
