  • Patent number: 8545518
Abstract: The present invention is a hybrid epilator device comprising an epilation unit for gripping and plucking hairs from a skin surface and at least one razor blade edge to shave off hairs growing on the skin surface. The blade edge defines a use direction along which it is effectuated that hairs are shaved off when the razor blade is drawn over the skin surface during operation. The razor blade is arranged behind the epilation unit with respect to the use direction. The epilation unit and the razor blade are mounted for simultaneous contact with the skin surface, where during operation the epilation unit grips and plucks out hairs from the skin surface and subsequently the razor blade shaves off remaining hairs growing on the same skin surface in a single stroke.

  • Publication number: 20130239414
Abstract: A hair removal apparatus with a housing and an actuator head movable in the housing. The actuator head accommodates an actuator system that removes the hairs and is adapted to be driven by an electric drive mechanism arranged in the hair removal apparatus. The actuator system is movable into at least one active position for hair treatment. According to the invention, the actuator head is freely rotatable in the housing about an axis of rotation for adjustment of an active position. Using a single hair removal apparatus it is thus possible to employ various hair treatment systems such as long-hair cutter, short-hair cutter, or epilator, requiring only the actuator head to be turned about its bearing axis until the cutting unit provided for the respective hair treatment operation is turned into the actuator plane. Since several hair treatment operations can be performed with just one apparatus, manufacturing costs can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20130083989
Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing a noise-reduced CT image data record by frequency band breakdown, a computer system for carrying out the method, and a CT system (1) with such a computer system. In an embodiment of the method, several linear-combined mixed image data records ( M m = c 0 , m + ? i ? c i , m · X i ) are produced from several simultaneously-recorded energy spectrum-specific CT image data records (Xi); a frequency band breakdown of the mixed image data records (Mm) takes place into a first lowest frequency band (F0) and several higher frequency bands; and a result image data record ( E = ? j , m ? g j , m ? ( r ) · F j · M m ) is calculated, wherein each mixed image data record (Mm) is multiplied with precisely one filter and with a location-dependent function (gj,m(r)) and is thereby totaled, and wherein g0,0(r)=1.

  • Publication number: 20110276061
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with an epilator that comprises a housing, an epilation cylinder mounted at a head region of the housing for plucking hairs from the skin during operation, and an attachment detachably connected with the housing, which attachment comprises at least a shaving blade defining a use direction along which the shaving blade is to be drawn over the skin to shave off hairs. In the attached state the shaving blade is disposed behind the epilation cylinder with respect to the use direction so that during operation the epilation cylinder plucks hairs from the skin and the shaving blade contacts the skin to shave off hairs from the skin in successive order during a single stroke of the epilator over a skin area, wherein the attachment is connected with the housing in the head region such that the epilation cylinder is partially covered by the attachment and a non-covered part of the epilation cylinder extends into an aperture of the attachment.

Abstract: An electrically operated shaver includes a shaver housing and a cutter head. The cutter head is arranged on the shaver housing and includes at least one cutting device comprised of an outer cutter equipped with apertures and an under cutter. The cutters are driven into sliding relationship to one another by an electric drive, so that hairs entering the apertures are cut off by the cutting device. Provided on the cutter head adjacent to the cutting device is a supporting element which, like the cutting device, is engaged by an operator's skin surface during a shaving operation. Both the cutting device and the supporting element are mounted in the cutter head for displacement against the force of a spring. Means are provided for enabling a different distribution of the contact forces (F1, F2) to the cutting device and the supporting element.

  • Publication number: 20110130770
Abstract: An epilation device is proposed that has a housing, a roll-like epilation implement mounted at the housing, which epilation implement has clamping units for successively clamping and plucking hairs, and the epilation device has further a powered motor operatively coupled to the epilation implement, and a motor control. The proposed epilation device is arranged to have at least a fast operation mode in which the motor is controlled by the motor control such that the clamping units move with a circumferential speed of more than 2.5 meters per second relative to the housing. This serves to e.g. achieve a gap-less clamping and plucking in a use direction (U) even if the epilation device is drawn over the skin with a relatively high speed.

  • Patent number: 7682073
Abstract: A conventional radiation thermometer encompasses an infrared radiation sensor and a heatable and/or coolable radiation incidence window. The method and radiation thermometer according to the invention use the established dependence of the sensor signal U of the infrared radiation sensor on the temperature Tw of the radiation incidence window W (or any other heatable or coolable optical element in the beam path) for verifying its proper functional operation. Applying the method according to the invention, the radiation incidence window (or perhaps another optical element in the beam path) is heated up or cooled by activating an associated electric heating or cooling device. The resulting change ?Uw in the sensor signal U is detected, preferably in continuous fashion, as a function of the window temperature Tw and analyzed or verified for any deviation from an acceptable value or permissible range.
