  • Publication number: 20100006396
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for feeding articles to a packing machine are disclosed. A conveyor belt is arranged prior to the belt feeder of the packing machine. The conveyor belt has at least two single lanes which are spatially separated from each other. A first sole driving motor allocated to the conveyor belt. A triggering mechanism connects the first driving motor with the single lanes of the conveyor belt so that the single lanes are driveable with different speeds.

  • Publication number: 20080263177
Abstract: Media Distribution within the Internet is done with the help of Application-Servers, Content-Servers and distributed Edge-Servers where the clients are connected to Media Distribution Services. A computer system is provided comprising client 1, having a Web browser with a media player 2, Web application server 3, content server, edge servers ES1 to ES4 and media request broker 11. After the client 1 has selected a media for streaming the media request broker 11 makes a determination concerning an appropriate edge server to perform the streaming operation. This determination is made based on an extension of the client's http request made by the edge server and passed from the application server to the media request broker.

  • Publication number: 20040078470
Abstract: A method, device, and program product are provided for streaming a media file over a distributed information system to a client computer running a browser application. First, a server receives a request for a particular media file from the client computer. Then, the server dynamically generates a metafile, whereby said metafile contains information about the identification, location and format of the media file, and returns it back to the client computer. Advantageously, the server intercepts a download request for the actual media file and reinterprets the download request in a request for receiving a corresponding metafile. Thus, instead of returning the requested media file, a metafile is returned that allows immediate streaming of the requested media file without the need of waiting for the download to be finished.

  • Publication number: 20020147827
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program for streaming data from server to client, when the data is partially available on the server. A stream server is coupled to a data server and an end-user-client. The data server has a file stored in its file system which is to be rendered on the client. The file is downloaded from the data server to the stream server and cached in the media cache of the stream server. The stream server has local content data stored in memory. The streaming to the media player of the client is done from the media cache. If a data underrun occurs in the media cache, local content data is inserted into the data stream to fill in for the missing data of the file to be rendered. Thus, a streaming operation can start before the file to be streamed is completely available on the stream server.

  • Patent number: 6430151
Abstract: An Ethernet network with redundancy properties and an associated method for detecting and eliminating errors in the network. A redundancy manager (6), which is connected to the line ends of the network (1), checks the status of the network by transmitting and receiving test telegrams. If there is an interruption in the network, the redundancy manager (6) connects the line ends (7, 8) and thereby ensures continued network operation within milliseconds. The network has a loop structure that is less expensive than a dual bus structure even though fast media redundancy is ensured.

  • Patent number: 6412816
Abstract: A pyrotechnical gas generator, preferably for an airbag system, consists of a housing, an ignition unit, a gas generating mixture, a conically shaped cooling system (or cooling and filtering system) tapering in the discharge direction, a gas generating mixture disposed within the cooling system. The housing is preferably one piece and tubular. The combustion gases are discharged through exit ports arranged radially, axially or diagonally on a side of the housing opposite the ignition unit. The cooling system (or cooling and filtering system) separates the gas generator into a combustion chamber, which contains the gas generating mixture and in which a gas is generated by burning the gas generating mixture, and an outflow chamber, through which the cooled (and optionally filtered) gas can flow and the exit through the exit ports.

  • Patent number: 5218600
Abstract: In a process for interconnecting computers and/or computer networks, the occurrence of an interruption in the network system is detected. A redundant connection is activated as a function of said interruption. The redundant connection is inactive in undisturbed operation. The presence of an interruption is detected by determining whether a data signal appears within a predetermined period of time at the connectors of a redundant connective device. Different criteria are provided to interrupt a closed connecting ring generated by the activation of the redundant connecting device when the initial interference in the network system is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5210773
Abstract: An intermediate amplification process for digital signals with pulse regeneration, determines the phase difference between the receiving timing signal and the local transmission timing signal and alters the phase of the local transmission timing signal as a function of the phase difference. It is particularly advantageous that the receiving timing signal is used as the transmission timing signal as soon as the phase difference becomes essentially zero. It is possible in this manner to minimize both the startup time delay and the packet spacing, as the number of bits to be stored intermediately may be kept low.

  • Patent number: 4749194
Abstract: Sectional cutting machine used to cut a curved gallery cross-section in underground mining and tunneling operations with cutting rollers arranged in a movable way in regard to the machine frame. The machine is characterized by the circumstance, that to cut the upper layer (10) and the gallery roof (11), an upper roller (2) configured as a frontal surface roller is used. The roller is moved on a support arm (4) along a rotation axis (6) which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the machine. The lower layer is cut by a lower roller (3), configured as a lateral cutting roller with even front surfaces (9) of the roller bodies (8). This lower roller (3) is moved along a predetermined, even path, which is parallel to the gallery bed (17).
