Abstract: A standard deviation based method for detection and quantification of stiction in a control valve in a process control loop is provided, the process control loop having a sensor for measuring a process parameter or variable (PV) and a controller for controlling the control valve, whereby the controller compares the process parameter or variable (PV) to a set point value (SP) for a stable operation of the process and provides an output signal (OP) for controlling the control valve.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application relate to the field of lithium battery production technologies and disclose a slurry filtering apparatus and a coating system. The slurry filtering apparatus may include a rotating filter element and a gravity filter. The gravity filter may be provided with a feed port and a first discharge port. A height of the feed port on the gravity filter may be greater than that of the first discharge port on the gravity filter. The rotating filter may be connected to the feed port and is configured to provide a positive-pressure filtered slurry to the gravity filter. The first discharge port may be configured to convey a slurry filtered by the gravity filter to a coating apparatus.

Abstract: A robust and general method is provided to synthesize noble metal-based amorphous-crystalline heterophase nanoparticles, each having an amorphous noble metal core and a crystalline semiconductor/metal shell or a Janus structure with an amorphous noble metal domain and a crystalline metal domain attached side by side with the amorphous noble metal domain (i.e., snowman-like structure). The as-synthesized heterophase nanoparticles not only exhibit superior activities in diverse catalytic reactions but also show unexpected high stability, which could be used as ideal templates for the seeded growth of other nanostructures, thus show tremendous potential in different applications including electrocatalysis and photocatalysis.

Abstract: A general and well-controlled method for synthesizing intermetallic nanoparticles is provided. The method comprises: preparing noble-metal nanoparticle seeds; dispersing a metal precursor into the noble-metal nanoparticle seeds to form a first solution; adding the first solution into an organic solvent to form a first mixture; sonicating the first mixture at room temperature; subjecting the first mixture to a heat treatment under N2 atmosphere to render a second solution; cooling the second solution naturally to room temperature; adding ethanol to the second solution to form a third solution; and collecting the intermetallic nanoparticle from the third solution by centrifugation. The as-synthesized hollow orthorhombic Pd2Sn alloy nanoparticles can accelerate the cleavage of C—C bond when compared with commercial Pd/C and display superior catalytic performance towards glycerol oxidation reaction and potential for promising applications.

The battery cell includes: an adapting piece; an electrode assembly including a main body and a tab extending from the main body, where the tab includes a root section and a connecting section, the root section being connected to the main body and the connecting section being connected to the adapting piece; and a protective film including a first adhesive region, a second adhesive region, and a non-adhesive region located between the first adhesive region and the second adhesive region, where the first adhesive region is bonded to the main body, the second adhesive region is bonded to the connecting section, and the non-adhesive region covers the root section. The battery cell has prolonged service life.

Abstract: The present invention provides a high-purity isothiocyanate compound preparation method for industrial production. Specifically, in the method, organic amine and CS2 are used as raw materials to prepare the thiocarbamate, and then desulfurization is carried out, and the high-purity isothiocyanate compound is obtained by using purification, post-processing and other methods. The method in the present invention is suitable for industrial production, is simple in the post-processing, has a high yield rate, and allows the product to have a high purity, and is suitable for the production of the isothiocyanate compound in the pharmaceutical industry.

Abstract: Current kidney organoids model development and diseases of the nephron but not the con-tiguous epithelial network of the kidney's collecting duct (CD) system. Here, we report the generation of an expandable, 3D branching ureteric bud (UB) organoid culture model that can be derived from primary UB progenitors from mouse and human fetal kidneys, or gen-erated de novo from human pluripotent stem cells. In chemically-defined culture conditions, UB organoids generate CD organoids, with differentiated principal and intercalated cells adopting spatial assemblies reflective of adult kidney's collecting system. Aggregating 3D-cultured nephron progenitor cells with UB organoids results in a reiterative process of branching morphogenesis and nephron induction, similar to kidney development. Applying a gene editing strategy to remove RET activity, we demonstrate genetically modified UB organoids can model congenital anomalies of kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT).

Abstract: The amphibious unmanned patrol vehicle includes a buoy, a waterproof cable and a submersible amphibious vehicle. An end of the waterproof cable is connected to a first controller of the buoy; and another end thereof is connected to a second controller of the submersible amphibious vehicle. A bottom end of the buoy is connected to a top end of the submersible amphibious vehicle which is configured to realize movement and operation of a whole system. The waterproof cable is configured to connect the submersible amphibious vehicle, and the buoy configured to ensure real-time communication between the submersible amphibious vehicle and an external environment during operation of the submersible amphibious vehicle. A height difference between an upper surface and a lower surface of the automatic reeling and unreeling cable device is equal to a thickness of the waterproof cable. The length of the waterproof cable is adjusted automatically in real time.

Abstract: A system and method for estimating steam quality for a steam generator is provided which involves obtaining raw measurement values for process variables of the steam generator from sensors coupled to the steam generator; receiving the raw measurement values and slow-rate steam quality samples in order to determine a steam quality estimate, using a measurement module to receive the raw measurement values and determine model input values and a robustness index; using an estimator module to determines a raw steam quality estimate using the model input values and a model that is selected from several models depending on reliability of some of the raw measurements; and using a corrector module to determine the steam quality estimate using the raw steam quality estimate, robustness index, and slow-rate steam quality samples. An output receives the steam quality estimate and can provide the steam quality estimate to another device.
