  • Patent number: 11018742
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for identification of beamforming parameters for a downlink transmission beam based at least in part on a set of rules that define a priority order for control transmission and data transmissions. Downlink resources may be allocated to a user equipment (UE) for a downlink transmission via a first set of downlink beamforming parameters, and the UE may also be configured to monitor a control resource set using a different set of downlink beamforming parameters within a same transmission time interval (TTI) as the downlink transmission. A UE and a base station may identify which beamforming parameters to use for the downlink transmission based on the priority order. The set of rules may define which set of downlink beamforming parameters are to be used, whether the downlink transmission is rate-matched around the control resource set, or combinations thereof.

  • Publication number: 20210127288
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for using a channel state information (CSI) report framework to support positioning measurements in a wireless network. More particularly, a base station may identify one or more reference signal resources to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) for obtaining at least one positioning measurement and configure the reference signal resources to be transmitted at least partially outside a current bandwidth that the base station and the UE are using to communicate data and control information. Accordingly, the base station may transmit, to the UE, a CSI report setting that indicates the positioning measurement to be reported and specifies that the positioning measurement is to be obtained from the configured reference signal resources.

  • Patent number: 10939457
Abstract: The disclosure relates in some aspects to determining which beam parameters to use for wireless communication. For example, a wireless communication device may use one beam selection procedure for a non-persistent communication and another beam selection procedure for a semi-persistent communication. For the non-persistent communication, a transmission configuration signaled with control scheduling or a default transmission configuration may specify the beam configuration for the communication. For the semi-persistent communication, a recently used transmission configuration may specify the beam configuration for the communication. An apparatus may determine that a channel is persistently scheduled, determine a transmission configuration for a transmission based on a resource set associated with a transmission time, and receive information based on the determined transmission configuration.

  • Patent number: 10939401
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining round trip time (RTT) includes a second node, which receives a first signal from a first node at a first time, determines a timing advance based on a first estimated channel response for the first signal, and transmits at a second time, a second signal to the first node, wherein the second time occurs after the first time by an amount of a pre-specified delay for RTT estimation minus the timing advance. The first node transmits the first signal to the second node at an initial time, receives the second signal from the second node, and determines a timing statistic from a second estimated channel response for the second signal, the timing statistic estimated at a third time. The first node determines the RTT as the third time minus the initial time minus the pre-specified delay for RTT estimation.

  • Patent number: 10938545
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Synchronization signals may be transmitted using a set of phase offsets over different component carriers or using a single component carrier for each antenna port. For example, a base station may identify a set of synchronization signals (e.g., a set of primary synchronization signals (PSSs)) to be transmitted over one or multiple component carriers. In some cases, each PSS may be associated with a different component carrier, and the base station may apply a different phase offset to each PSS when transmitting the set of PSSs on the component carriers. In some examples, the base station may transmit the PSSs on the component carriers using a different antenna port for each component carrier.
