  • Publication number: 20090262883
Abstract: A pressure-induced counter includes a pressure acquisition unit, a delay unit and a counter unit. The pressure acquisition unit is electrically coupled to the counter unit via the delay unit. The pressure acquisition unit is configured for acquiring a pressure signal of an external pressure applied thereon to generate and output an original electrical signal corresponding to the pressure signal. The delay unit is configured for processing the original electrical signal outputted from the pressure acquisition unit to obtain a processed electrical signal by depressing the leading-edge jitter existing therein. The counter unit is configured for receiving the processed electrical signal transmitted from the delay unit and taking count of the received signals.

  • Publication number: 20090181110
Abstract: Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) are disclosed which are useful in the treatment and prevention of post-menopausal breast cancer. New AIs derived from natural products are disclosed that are evaluated for clinical utility for treating post-menopausal breast cancer and may also act as chemopreventive agents for preventing breast cancer. Several pure compounds demonstrated AI activity using a noncellular, enzyme-based microsomal and a cell-based aromatase assay. Correlations are made between structural classes with levels of aromatase inhibition. The disclosure may be utilized to direct synthetic modification of natural product scaffolds to enhance aromatase inhibition or to standardize botanical dietary supplements for increased aromatase inhibition activity.

  • Publication number: 20040196318
Abstract: A method is directed to coating a light source. The method provides a setup stage, a coating stage and an optional drying stage. The setup stage involves a loading of a luminescent spray solution into a reservoir of an inkjet printer cartridge, a setting of a spraying distance between a platform and the inkjet printer cartridge, and a creation of a spray profile drawing corresponding to the light source. The coating stage involves a secure positioning of the light source on the platform, and a printing of the spray profile drawing where the luminescent material is sprayed upon the diode(s) of the light source. The final drying stage implements a crosslinking technique or curing technique to dry the coated diode(s).
