  • Patent number: 7656868
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, devices and system for transit of information over packet switched networks, in particular for transit of an end-to-end connection over a plurality of such networks (1?, 1, 1?) using a transit method that is independent on the network technology used in the different networks. An end-to-end service node (21) selects the networks and links an end-to-end connection shall traverse. To each network an incoming transit node (2) and an outgoing transit node (3) are connected. Between these a leg of the end-to-end connection is transited. The outgoing transit node has a list (37) of transit tags used for identification of a packet flow related to the connection. A transit tag is selected from the list and is signalled to the incoming transit node together with the local address of the outgoing transit node. At the incoming transit node incoming packets are analyzed with regard to the presence of a local identifier (e.g. called a link tag).

  • Publication number: 20090238670
Abstract: The invention relates to a gripper for a robotic arm which is specially designed for fresh food products. The invention also relates to a method, a device and a system which arranges food products fully automatically onto a conveyor, e.g. in-feed conveyor to an IQF freezer, or into a tray or a box. The gripper unit comprises penetration mechanism for penetrating into the articles that are to be picked up, thereby providing an engagement between the gripper unit and the articles while rearranging the positions of the articles, whereby the position of the penetration mechanism into the articles is operated in such a way that one end of the articles becomes at least partially freely hanging.

  • Publication number: 20080269619
Abstract: A flexible pad for measuring systolic ankle blood pressure comprises two or more pairs of light emitting diodes and photo detectors. The pairs are disposed in parallel. The detectors are adapted for detecting light emitted by the respective diode into tissue and reflected from there. The pad further comprises conductor means for providing power to the light emitting diodes from a power source and means selected from conducting means and wireless means for putting the detectors in communication with electronic equipment for detector signal analysis. Also disclosed is the combination of the pad and an inflatable cuff, and a method for measuring systolic ankle blood pressure.

  • Patent number: 7365741
Abstract: A system and method for navigation and selection in an information space at least partly displayed on a display screen at a mobile terminal device. The information space contains selectable information objects properties. The terminal device has motion-sensing means for control of the displayed information and of object selection. An information object may represent an information space whereby object properties determine display, navigation, and selection characteristics. In particular, a terminal device motion along a predefined axis affects a type of projection for mapping the information onto a display screen and, simultaneously, a scale factor.

  • Patent number: 7257646
Abstract: The invention is related to a method in a communication network for handling traffic, such as data packets, from source nodes to destination nodes, via user selectable relay nodes. The relay nodes form an overlay network of nodes operated and managed by an overlay network operator. Communication between relay nodes relies on using packet forwarding services of intermediate networks being operated and managed independently by other operators. For any source/destination pair the overlay network operator may select an appropriate sequence of relay nodes to be passed depending on the required quality of service and the performance of different intermediate networks. The invention enables the control of the spreading of traffic between any two end-points over several alternative relay routes.

  • Publication number: 20070093958
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for generating information for use, for example, in a vehicle for guidance of driver. Information is described by information object specifications determined in part from compiled data related to the vehicle and its immediate environment, navigation area, target area, and user profile. An analysis and control part (320, 340) of the system creates information objects, optionally assigns priority to the same, and assigns a medium for presentation of an information object. A system state may be determined related to current use of available media. An information object of high priority can cause the control part to reallocate a medium to allow presentation of the high priority information object. The system may further determine need for format transcoding to allow presentation of information on the most appropriate medium.

  • Publication number: 20050234732
Abstract: First and second users subscribe to respectively first and second mobile telecommunications services provided by first and second operator respectively. Respective user trusts the operator to perform operations in a private user domain such as a payment account. In response to first operator receiving from first user a message ordering execution of specified transaction, e.g. an SMS.message, the message is intercepted and forwarded to analysis unit. First and second operations are determined and intercepted message is amended and forwarded to second user who returns, to second operator, a response message indicating, e.g., acceptance of indicated operations. First and second operators, mutually trusted, exchange control information over a secure channel to prepare for execution of first and second operations in respective private domains. In response to second operator receiving an acceptance message from the second user, the first and second operations are executed in respective private domain.

  • Publication number: 20050147118
Abstract: Users, who have simultaneous access to a plurality of terminal devices, can enter into a multimedia, multiterminal user session. In a negotiation phase users agree on which media to use in a multimedia session and select the most appropriate types of terminal devices that support the selected media. Each terminal device is connected to one of a plurality of interworking communications networks. A network node (130) that is reached through any of the plurality of interworking networks manages creation and supervision of sub-sessions involving the selected terminal devices such that each type of terminal device carry at least one selected media. A versatile and media rich communication is obtained in which terminal devices currently available at a local environment are efficiently used.

  • Publication number: 20040019801
Abstract: Method and system for securely sharing content in real-time systems over heterogeneous networks. Cryptographic mechanisms of the content are used to protect the confidentiality and the integrity of the content. The confidentiality/integrity protection may be performed either before storing the content on the content server (i.e., pre-encryption), or by the content server while the content is being sent (i.e., real-time encryption).

  • Publication number: 20030162499
Abstract: The invention comprises an overlay network that can be under full control of a service provider. Routing of packets between nodes in said overlay network is performed by means of an underlying large communication network. The nodes in the overlay network comprises specific nodes in the large communication network. Therefore, routing of packets according to the invention is transparent for nodes not belonging to the overlay network. One or more federative nodes manages the routing information. The federative nodes are connected to the network and comprise a computer and software, designed for providing said management of the routing information. The management of routes in the overlay network may of course be distributed over several hosts, for scalability of large overlay networks and reliability reasons. A purpose of the invention is to enable a user organization to control the routing of packets for their overlay network via different external networks.

  • Patent number: 6574467
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a method in a telecommunications terminal, e.g. amobile phone, comprising an identification module with several subscriber numbers, of invoking desired services provided by different service providers. In the method a category of an incoming or outgoing call can be determined. A desired service is selected, in accordance with the category determined, among the services provided by a service provider associated with the mobile phone through service access numbers stored in the module. There is called to a service access number of the service provider providing a desired service in accordance with a certain call handling function by means of which the desired service can be invoked and charged in different ways, whereafter the service provided by the service provider is invoked. The invention is also concerned with a telecommunications terminal and the use of the terminal in different roles, such as a private person, an employee and as a member in different organizations.

  • Patent number: 6385585
Abstract: A digital input symbol is transmitted to a receiver by determining one or more formant frequencies that correspond to the digital input symbol. In one embodiment, a pre-programmed addressable memory is used to map the set of possible digital input symbols onto a set of corresponding speech units, each comprising a superposition of one or more formant frequencies. A signal is then generated having the speech units. The signal is supplied for transmission over a voice channel. This may include supplying the signal to a voice coder prior to transmission. In another aspect of the invention, a forward error correction code (FEC) is determined for the digital input symbol, and the one or more speech units are modified as a function of the forward error correction code. In this way, the FEC may also be transmitted with the encoded input symbol. The modification may affect any of a number of attributes of the speech units, including a volume attribute and a pitch attribute.
