Apolipoprotein AI-M dimer can also be produced in a recombinant Escherichia coli system. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the ApoAI-AI-M/ApoAI-M are described. Patients with atherosclerosis or cardiovascular diseases can be treated with the dimer.
