  • Publication number: 20120300699
Abstract: A method for an electronic receiver of processing a packet of a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a first transmission of the packet, wherein the first transmission comprises a first plurality of soft symbol values and determining whether the first plurality of soft symbol values meets a stop criterion. If it is determined that the first plurality of soft symbol values does not meet the stop criterion, a subject of the first plurality of soft symbol values is determined, wherein the subset comprises a number of soft symbol values of the first plurality of soft symbol values, the number being greater than zero and less than the first plurality. The subset of the first plurality of soft symbol values is stored in a HARQ buffer.

  • Patent number: 8130849
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for estimating inter-cell interference levels for resource elements of a received Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal. In an exemplary method in a wireless receiver, a reference symbol interference levels is measured for each of a plurality of reference symbols in a received OFDM signal, and interference scaling factors are mapped to each of a plurality of resource elements of the received OFDM signal. Each interference scaling factor reflects the probability that the corresponding resource element or group of resource elements is subject to interference from an interfering OFDM signal. Interference levels for each of the resource elements are then estimated as a function of the measured reference symbol interference levels and the interference scaling factors.

  • Patent number: 8005039
Abstract: A base station includes transmitter and associated processing circuits. The transmitter circuits are configured to transmit control information and data traffic to mobile terminals in repeating transmission intervals, each interval having defined control and data portions. The processing circuits are configured to dynamically determine that the control portion has insufficient resources for transmitting control information to one or more of the mobile terminals, and, in response, at least temporarily transmit control information in the data portion, rather than in the control portion, for a selected one or more of the mobile terminals. Correspondingly, a mobile terminal is configured to selectively search for and decode control information in the data portion of one or more transmission intervals, rather than in the control portion.

  • Patent number: 7982442
Abstract: A method for voltage stabilization of an electrical power network system including a producing power network system side, a consuming power network side including a power load, a power transmission line with an impedance ZLN, a transformer and an on-line tap changer added to the transformer. The impedance of the line is measured in case of dynamic instabilities. A transformer ratio n is controlled by changing a voltage reference Vref of the on-line tap changer. The voltage reference is changed according to a feed forward compensation from the impedance of the line.
