    Abstract: Peptide vectors having high KDR binding affinity and processes for making such vectors are provided. The peptide vectors may be conjugated to phospholipids and included in ultrasound contrast agent compositions. Such ultrasound contrast agents are particularly useful in therapeutic and diagnostic methods, such as in imaging KDR-containing tissue and in the evaluation and treatment of angiogenic processes associated with neoplastic conditions. The present invention also provides processes for the large scale production of highly pure dimeric and monomeric peptide phospholipid conjugates as well as precursor materials used to form the conjugates. The present invention further provides processes for the large scale production of highly pure peptide phospholipid conjugates which contain very low levels of TFA.

    Abstract: Methods for modulating expression of a component of a cell, comprising contacting the cell with a nucleic acid comprising an miR-140 nucleic acid sequence in an amount sufficient to modulate the cellular component are provided. Overexpression of miR-140 inhibits cell proliferation in both U-2 OS (wt-p53) and HCT 116 (wt-p53) cell lines. Cells transfected with miR-140 are more resistant to chemotherapeutic agent methotrexate. mi-140 expression is related to HDAC4 protein expression. The claimed methods reduce the protein expression level of HDAC4 without degrading the target mRNA.

For example, inhibiting miR-192 and/or miR-215 sensitizes a neoplasm or a subject with a neoplasm to chemotherapeutic agents. Furthermore, measuring the levels of miR-192 and/or miR-215 provides one with information regarding whether the neoplasm or subject will respond to chemotherapeutic agents. Accordingly, the invention relates to composition and methods relating to the identification, characterization and modulation of the expression of miR-192 and miR-215.

    Abstract: A control channel for routing management messages to or from an OpenFlow controller is separated from a reserved port within a data channel for routing unknown data packets to or from the OpenFlow controller. The port may be reserved by setting a reserved port flag. A packet routing table may include a table miss entry that indicates the unknown packets should be routed via the reserved port. By utilizing the reserved port to route unknown packets, the unknown packets do not traverse into the control channel, and the separation of the OpenFlow control channel from the OpenFlow data channel is enhanced.

    Abstract: A method is provided for constructing a three-dimensional hyperspectral image using compressive sensing. The method includes: configuring on/off state of each mirror in an array of micromirrors in accordance with a pattern; capturing image data of a scene from a first point of view using a first photodetector; and capturing image data of the scene from second point of view using a second photodetector, where second point of view differs from the first point of view. The steps are repeated to obtain a series of measurement samples, where the array of micromirrors is configured in accordance with a pattern that differs amongst each measurement samples. By choosing different photodetectors with different band gap nanomaterials, the first and second photodetectors detects photons in the electromagnetic spectrum. As a result, the three-dimensional image also carry the spectrum information of the scene.

    Abstract: Compressive sensing based video rate imaging techniques are presented. Rather than scan the entire image, the imaging system only scans part of the topography of the sample as a compressed scan. After the data has been collected, an algorithm for image reconstruction is applied for recovering the image. Because compressive sensing is used, the imaging rate is increased from several minutes per frame to seconds per frame. Non-vector space control techniques are also presented. No-vector space control use image or compressive data as the input and feedback to generate a closed-loop motion control. Compressive sensing technique provides an efficient data reduction method to retain the essential information in the original image. The non-vector space control method can be used as motion control method with compressive feedback without or with noise.
