Abstract: A method for providing a User Interface (UI) list in a network by letting a specific terminal, which has an application communicating with a remote server, receive a request for the UI list from an arbitrary terminal; and providing at least one of a UI list provided from the remote server and a UI list included in the specific terminal using the application. The specific terminal may combine the UI list provided from the remote server and the UI list included in the specific terminal to thereby provide the arbitrary terminal with a combined list and the arbitrary terminal may select the desired remote UI through the provided UI list.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for selecting a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Internet Protocol (IP)-based services. A service request message is received from a user. The service request message includes user location information. The CDN is selected in accordance with the user location information. The service request message is transmitted to the CDN for connection of a corresponding delivery function module of the CDN to the user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for acquiring a specialized Control User Interface (CUI) in a remote control device of home network. A first message is transmitted to a client requesting a User Interface (UI) list. The UI list is received from the client. The UI list comprises specialized CUI information from a server. A second message is transmitted to the client requesting the specialized CUI in accordance with the specialized CUI information in the UI list. The specialized CUI is received from the server via the client.

Abstract: A method and system for updating a plug-in in a device in Internet Protocol TeleVision (IPTV) system are provided. The method includes determining a second plug-in group selected from among a first plug-in group to be updated according to status information of each plug-in indicated in the first plug-in group in the device; and updating each plug-indicated in the determined second plug-in group.

Abstract: A system and methods for providing a Control User Interface (CUI) for controlling a Networked Device (ND) with a Remote Controller (RC) are provided. A Service Provider (SP) receives capability information of the RC and CUI information from the ND, generates a reconfigured CUI based on a location of the RC from which to control the ND, and transmits the reconfigured CUI to the ND. The ND receives the reconfigured CUI from the SP and transmits the reconfigured CUI to the RC. The RC receives the reconfigured CUI from the ND and controls the ND with the reconfigured CUI.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for remote control in a short-range network system, and a system supporting the same are provided, in which from a remote device that remotely controls the application execution device using a predetermined Control User Interface (CUI), information about capability of the remote device is collected, a CUI request requesting a CUI to be used for remotely controlling a currently executed application and the information about the capability of the remote device are sent to an application server, a CUI matching the capability of the remote device is received from the application server in response to the CUI request, and the received CUI is sent to the remote device.

Abstract: A terminal apparatus is provided for receiving a broadcast service from a broadcasting system. A receiver receives a notification message from the broadcasting system. A message parser parses the notification message received by the receiver according to a certain format. A controller determines whether the received notification message is a notification message to be used by a user or a notification message to be used by the terminal based on content of the notification message parsed by the message parser, and performs an operation according to the determination result.

Abstract: Provided is a method for using home network contents of a wireless terminal located outside a home network. The method includes transmitting bandwidth information and wireless terminal information to a contents storage device, when a home gateway receives a remote access request message including the bandwidth information from the wireless terminal; setting, by the home contents storage device, the bandwidth information as a filtering parameter for the wireless terminal; filtering, by the contents storage device, contents available for the wireless terminal and generating a contents list corresponding to the wireless terminal by using the filtering parameter, upon receiving a request for the contents list; and transmitting the generated contents list to the wireless terminal.

Abstract: A first terminal subscribes to at least one service using a service guide in which information necessary for reception of each service is stored, and sends the service guide and an identifier (ID) of the subscribed service to a smartcard. The smartcard stores the service guide and the ID of the subscribed service, and sends the service guide and the ID of the subscribed service to a second terminal through a response message to a request message used for acquiring TBK information, received from the second terminal. The second terminal receives the response message by sending the request message to the smartcard, acquires TBK information corresponding to a service that the second terminal intends to play back, from the service guide depending on the subscribed service's ID included in the response message, and acquires the TBK by performing an authentication process using the TBK information.

Abstract: A method and system wherein a device remotely controls a user interface being executed in a remote device, using a remote user interface. The device discovers a server that supports a remote control interface. The device receives a list of remote devices that the device can control from the server. A selection input is received to select a remote device from the list of remote devices. A device selection request corresponding to the selection input is transmitted to the server. A remote control interface corresponding to the device selection request is received from the server. The selected remote device is controlled via the received remote control interface.

Abstract: A mobile broadcast system having a terminal is disclosed. The terminal transmits a message including a type-based identifier (ID) to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) in a corresponding network during network access. The BSM determines a type of an ID of the received message and then performs an authentication procedure according to the type of the ID.

Abstract: A terminal apparatus is provided for receiving a broadcast service from a broadcasting system. A receiver receives a notification message from the broadcasting system. A message parser parses the notification message received by the receiver according to a certain format. A method is provided for changing a subscription status of a service by a terminal in a mobile communication system. The method includes transmitting a pause request message, in which a pause period of the subscription status is included, to a network entity; receiving, from the network entity, a pause response message including therein a possible pause period for the pause period included in the pause request message, and a trigger for changing validity for a Long-term Key stored in the terminal; and changing validity for the Long-term Key using the trigger for the possible pause period included in the pause response message.

Abstract: A remote user interface system and method for effectively controlling functions of a client device and remote user interface rendered on the client device by means of a client-specific or content-specific control user interface rendered on a remote control device is provided. A method for controlling a remote user interface device with a remote control device includes broadcasting, at the remote control device, a discovery message for discovering the remote user interface device; performing, when a response is received, a capability exchange and matching with the remote user interface device; rendering a control user interface transmitted by the remote user interface device and displaying the rendered control user interface on a screen; and transmitting, when an input is detected on the control user interface, a control command corresponding to the input to the remote user interface device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering a Control User Interface (CUI) using an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is provided for a broadcast system. A transmission apparatus for a digital broadcast system includes a provider that provides one or more of services and content. The apparatus also includes an information generator that generates EPG information including CUI information. The apparatus further includes a transmitter that transmits the EPG information and the one or more of the services and content. The CUI information is provided per service and per content.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for sharing content in an Internet broadcasting system that supports broadcasting services using an Internet protocol. The method includes creating, by a bookmark creator, a bookmark for contents, transmitting, by the bookmark creator, the bookmark to a service provider, receiving the bookmark by the service provider, notifying, by the service provider, that the bookmark is updated to a content-sharing party, receiving, by the service provider, a transmission request for the bookmark from the content-sharing party, sending, by the service provider, the bookmark to the content-sharing party, and accessing, by the content-sharing party, the contents by executing the bookmark.

Abstract: A service guide provision method and system for a digital broadcast service is provided for distributing a rich media-enabled service guide. A rich media-enabled service guide provisioning method for a digital broadcast service includes creating a Rich Media Solution (RMS) template for a service guide with reference to service guide fragments; creating a service guide delivery descriptor containing RMS information on the RMS template and service guide fragment information on the service guide fragments; and broadcasting the service guide fragments, the RMS template, and the service guide delivery descriptor.

Abstract: An Internet Protocol (IP) TeleVision (IPTV) service provision method and system is provided for providing both fixed and mobile device users with IPTV services. The IPTV service provision method of the present invention includes establishing, when a Mobile-IPTV terminal function (M-ITF) including a first Open IPTV Terminal Function (OITF) having a plurality of functional entities and an embedded gateway having a plurality gateway functions detects a gateway function of an IPTV Terminal Function (ITF) including a second OITF having a plurality of functional entities and a plurality of gateways, a link with the gateway function of the ITF; disabling the embedded gateway; requesting a service provider network for an IPTV service via the gateway function of the ITF; and establishing a service link with the service provider network to received the IPTV service.

An audience research data reporting method of a device includes receiving an audience research data collection management object for collecting audience research data from a device management server, configuring a reporting condition of the audience research data collection management object based on parameters received from the device management server and collecting and reporting the audience research data to the device management server according to the reporting condition.

Abstract: Service guide transmission/reception methods and apparatuses for providing users with a service guide supporting multiplay service are provided. Service guide delivery information is received at a terminal. Device class grouping information is extracted from the Service guide delivery information. A Service Guide Data Unit (SGDU) having service guide information required for composing a service guide matched to the terminal is received. The service guide composed using the service guide information received by means of the SGDU is displayed.
