  • Publication number: 20070277083
Abstract: A data handling device is provided with a data memory (10) with an address input and a data output, for outputting multi-bit words. The data memory (10) has a structure that gives rise to potential errors at correlated positions in words from a group of words. An erasure memory unit (16) stores bit position information associated with a group of the words, and outputs the bit position information when a word from the group for which bit position information is stored is addressed in the data memory (10). An error correction and detection unit (12) is arranged to correct words from the data memory (10), using error erasure for bits at bit positions selected by the bit position information from the erasure memory unit (16) for the groups to which the words belong.

  • Patent number: 7076670
Abstract: A power supply circuit for a digital processing system. A first stage of the power supply circuit is used to generate power for a first component of the digital processing system and to drive a second stage of the power supply circuit. The second stage of the power supply circuit supports a second component of the digital processing system. The first and second stages of the power supply circuit are electrically connected to each other.

  • Publication number: 20030211845
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and a method for providing information to a communication device in response to a request for such service received from the communication device. The request may be in the form of a digits request trigger or short message service (SMS) origination message that is initiate from a wireless telephone. The digits request trigger and SMS origination request may be initiated when a user selects a menu option or it may be initiated using a microbrowser. The digits request trigger or SMS origination message is sent from the communication device to a wireless web information services gateway. The gateway retrieves the requested information from one or more sources. The gateway then forwards the retrieved information to the user via an SMS message or via a microbrowser message. The information may be formatted according to a preselected configuration that is stored in a user service information profile.

  • Publication number: 20030018704
Abstract: A mobile network presence and location (NPL) agent detects and gathers user presence and location information and provides a generic interface to applications which require the information. The NPL agent comprises a pull agent, a push agent, or both. The pull agent receives requests for presence or location information about mobile devices on a wireless network from remote applications over a computer network. In response, the pull agent sends corresponding requests to a remote entity, such as a Short Message Service Center (SMSC) associated with the wireless network, which queries the Home Location Register (HLR) of the wireless network for the requested information. The remote entity returns the requested information to the pull agent, which decodes it and subsequently provides the information to the remote applications. The push agent publishes presence or location information to applications without requiring applications to request the information.
