    Abstract: An assembly for attachment to an end of a cord that facilitates interconnection to another device. The device defines an opening through which the cord extends. The cord includes an end portion, such as a loop, ferrule positioned about the loop, that secures a ring configured to be positioned adjacent the opening to prevent withdrawal of the cord from the device when cord tension is applied. The assembly enables secure and durable attachment of the cord to the device without crimp sleeves or end caps and allows simplified assembly using conventional cord materials and diameters.

The method further includes displaying a plurality of modes/colors in a timed sequence, such that each mode/color of the plurality of modes/colors is displayed for a preset time period. The method further includes detecting that the single button is released. The method further includes displaying a selected mode/color of the plurality of modes/colors that was displayed when the single button was released.

The retractable leash assembly is operable in a retracted configuration in which the handle member is substantially within the pouch chamber. The retractable leash assembly is operable in an extended configuration in which the handle member is outside of the pouch chamber.
