  • Publication number: 20170122784
Abstract: A flow measuring device for measuring flow of a fluid. A housing has a passage which extends between an inlet and an outlet. A shaft is disposed within the housing and is rotatable about a central axis. A flow detector is mounted on the shaft and disposed at least partially within the passage. The flow detector includes a rotatable, generally cylindrical body that rotates about a central axis as the fluid flows. A magnet is disposed within the housing such that the central axis extends through it, and is configured to rotate simultaneously with the body about the central axis. A magnetic encoder is disposed within the housing and configured to sense rotation of the magnet as the flow detector angularly displaces about the central axis so as to detect angular displacement of the flow detector.

  • Patent number: 9554180
Abstract: A system includes a converter to receive a receiving a satellite signal at first transport frequencies and to convert the satellite signal to second transport frequencies and a processor. The processor removes a radio frequency portion from the satellite signal without altering a sequence of media contents of a moving picture experts group portion of the satellite signal and without altering a quality of the media contents of the moving picture experts group portion. The processor determines whether the media contents include an error and corrects the error in the moving picture experts group portion with error correction data of the satellite signal. The processor encrypts the media contents to produce an encrypted digital moving picture experts group transport stream signal. The processor also sends the encrypted digital moving picture experts group transport stream signal to a modulator.

  • Patent number: 9239044
Abstract: A pump for pumping viscous liquid. The pump includes a body, an elongate core, and a tube surrounding the core. A stepper or servo motor mounted on the body has a selectively rotatable output shaft. A transmission operatively connecting the motor output shaft and the elongate tube reciprocates the tube between a raised position and a lowered position. An inlet check valve defining an expansible lower chamber is oriented to open during each downward pumping stroke so liquid enters the lower chamber. The pump includes a pump chamber and a feed passage connecting the lower chamber to the pump chamber. The passage has a check valve oriented to open during each upward stroke to deliver liquid from the lower chamber to the pump chamber. An outlet passage connected to the pump chamber permits liquid to flow from the pump chamber to an outlet on each upward and downward stroke.

  • Publication number: 20150187224
Abstract: A system for driver assessment and training comprising a simulator which can be operated by a driver or pilot under test or in training, the simulator displaying scenarios the driver or pilot must drive through or fly through. The inputs of the driver or pilot in reaction to the displayed scenario are fed to a free body model which calculates the resulting movement of the simulated vehicle in the displayed world. Scoring can be by analysis of calculated Fonda curves comparing the driver performance to performances by one or more normative drivers plotted by standard deviation from norm on the vertical axis and sample point on the horizontal axis. Simulator sickness can be mitigated by calculation and display of a mitigation object which partially obscures the virtual scene being displayed. Signature curves give the driver or pilots' performance at a glance.

  • Patent number: 8972939
Abstract: Mechanisms for the publication of web content are disclosed. Various stages can be used in a general publishing framework in moving content to publication. For instance, a development stage for the content can be used, where the development stage allows entities, such as developers, to code any materials associated with the content. Also, a testing stage can be used in order to test content developed in the development stage. Once these two stages are complete, a staging stage can be used for storing the content, and a production stage can be used for the actual publication of the content. Moreover, various interfaces can be used to allow entities to make requests to submit content and to log the state of such content in the framework. Lastly, various entities can collaborate on the publication of web content using the framework.

  • Patent number: 8874346
Abstract: A brake system for a mobile machine is disclosed. The brake system may have an anti-lock braking subsystem configured to calculate a maximum allowable brake command. The brake system may have a stability control subsystem configured to generate a desired differential brake command. The brake system may have a brake command adjustment subsystem. The brake command adjustment subsystem may be configured to calculate an ideal solution of a left brake command and a right brake command to satisfy a combination of the desired differential brake command and a desired total brake command. When the ideal solution is valid, the brake command adjustment subsystem may output the ideal solution as an actual brake command. When the ideal solution is invalid, the brake command adjustment subsystem may calculate a non-ideal solution of the left brake command and the right brake command.

  • Patent number: 8776153
Abstract: A system for transporting content to subscriber premises includes a centralized content repository, a subscriber unit, and a network connecting the subscriber unit and repository. The content can be video, image, or other files and the network can include a digital subscriber line (DSL) link. The repository stores higher quality parts of decomposed content files. The subscriber unit locally stores lower quality parts of the content files corresponding to the higher quality parts in the repository. The lower quality parts can be downloaded to the subscriber unit during off-peak hours. During operation, a subscriber selects a locally stored file. In response to the selection, the repository downloads at least one of the higher quality parts corresponding to the selected file to be combined with one of the lower quality parts stored by the subscriber unit for real-time presentation of the content.

  • Patent number: 8732771
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing direct broadcast satellite (DBS) and digital subscriber line (DSL) video services to multiple display devices are disclosed. Generally the disclosed system receives a plurality of DBS channels and DSL content. The system receives a first user-initiated video selection and generates a first television signal based on the first user-initiated video selection. The first television signal combines video from at least one DBS channel and video from DSL content for simultaneously displaying at least a portion of the video from at least one DBS channel and at least a portion of the video from the DSL content on a display device. The first television signal is then transmitted to a first display device. Additionally, the system receives a second user-initiated video selection, generates a second television signal based on the second user-initiated video selection, and transmits the second television signal to a second display device.
