Publication number: 20250064265Abstract: A stand mixer includes a base configured for resting on a surface and a mixing head coupled to the base so as to be moveable between a lowered, operative position and a raised, non-use position. A locking mechanism is engageable between the base and the mixing head and has a solenoid having an operative end moveable between a rest condition and an actuated condition and a swing arm pivotably mounted with respect to the solenoid. The swing arm is moveable between a locked position, wherein the swing arm is engaged between the mixing head and the base, and a release position, wherein the swing arm is disengaged from the base. The solenoid acts on a lever end of the swing arm to move the swing arm into the release position when the solenoid is in the actuated condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2024Publication date: February 27, 2025Applicant: WHIRLPOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Brandon T. Patent number: 12226744Abstract: A mixing bowl for a stand mixer includes a body defining an interior and an exterior. The body has first and second mounting flanges extending outwardly from opposite sides of the exterior and defining respective cavities open at least on bottom sides of the mounting flanges. The mixing bowl further includes first and second inserts fixedly received in the respective cavities of the first and second mounting flanges. The inserts define respective pin holes for receiving mounting pins of a bowl-lift mechanism of the stand mixer, the first and second pin holes being located relative to each other at a first tolerance and relative to the respective first and second flanges at a second tolerance lower than the first tolerance.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2021Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: WHIRLPOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Prabhjee Anand, John W. Publication number: 20250040763Abstract: A countertop appliance is provided that has a motor and an actuator for setting an operational criteria of the motor, such as motor speed. The position of the actuator can be set physically by a user adjacent to the countertop appliance or via a signal received from a remote device, such as a smartphone or a home automation device. If a signal is received remotely, the physical position of the actuator is updated to show the updated operational criteria of the motor for the countertop appliance. An option feature of a confirmation interface is provided on a housing for the countertop appliance in which a user adjacent to the countertop appliance can confirm or reject an update to the operational criteria of the motor.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2024Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventors: ERIC A. HILL, RICHARD J. HUGHES, BRANDON T. MOCK, RYAN JAMES RUTTER

Publication number: 20250031906Abstract: A kitchen appliance includes a body, a power cord extending outward from the body, and a cord holder configured to receive the power cord via wrapping of the power cord about the cord holder. The cord holder is operable between an attached condition and a detached condition. In the attached condition, the cord holder is attached to the body via magnetic attraction. In the detached condition, the cord holder is detached from the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2023Publication date: January 30, 2025Applicant: WHIRLPOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Eric A. Hill, Brandon T. Mock, Ryan J. Rutter

Patent number: 11152746Abstract: An electrical connector includes a first member, a second member, and a sleeve connected to the first member. The sleeve may connect with a first component. The second member may connect with a second component. The first member may include a flange. The first portion of the sleeve may be disposed substantially at a first axial side of the flange. A second portion of the sleeve may be disposed substantially at a second axial side. The first and second members may include corresponding latching portions configured to selectively connect the first member with the second member and restrict relative axial movement between the first member and the second member. The latching portion of the second member may include a latching spring, and the latching portion of the first member may include a latching spring groove. When latched, the latching spring may be at least partially in the latching spring groove.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2019Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: Eaton Intelligent Power LimitedInventor: Brandon Hill

Patent number: 9810427Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel apparatus and way for directing a supply of compressed air into a fuel nozzle assembly for mixing with a fuel source. The apparatus comprises a fuel nozzle assembly having a plurality of coaxial tubes and radially-extending swirler vanes for directing a supply of fuel to a mixing tube. Compressed air is directed to flow in a primarily axial direction by passing through a hemispherically-shaped dome portion at an air inlet region of the fuel nozzle assembly. The hemispherically-shaped dome includes a plurality of openings for directing air into the fuel nozzle assembly in a direction having a radial and axial component.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2015Date of Patent: November 7, 2017Assignee: ANSALDO ENERGIA SWITZERLAND AGInventors: Luiz Claudio Fernandes, Brian Richardson, Peter Stuttaford, Sumit Soni, David Schlamp, Chiluwata Lungu, Justin Bosnoian, Nicolas Demougeot, Kevin B. Publication number: 20160281978Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel apparatus and way for directing a supply of compressed air into a fuel nozzle assembly for mixing with a fuel source. The apparatus comprises a fuel nozzle assembly having one or more coaxial flow dividers and radially-extending swirler vanes for directing a supply of fuel to a mixing tube. Compressed air is directed to flow in a primarily axial direction by passing through one or more coaxial flow dividers spaced axially and radially about the air inlet region of the fuel nozzle assembly so as to form a non-uniform radial distribution of compressed air to the inlet region of the fuel nozzle assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2015Publication date: September 29, 2016Inventors: LUIZ CLAUDIO FERNANDES, BRIAN RICHARDSON, PETER STUTTAFORD, SUMIT SONI, DAVID SCHLAMP, CHILUWATA LUNGU, JUSTIN BOSNOIAN, NICOLAS DEMOUGEOT, KEVIN B.
