  • Patent number: 11952636
Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to molecular diagnostic devices configured to amplifying a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) locus and discriminate between two or more allelic variants of the SNP, indicating presence or absence of a target allele. In some embodiments, the molecular diagnostic devices are capable of detecting, at point-of-care, SNPs associated with resistance or susceptibility to antibiotic treatment of organism infections. In other aspects, the disclosure provides methods of treatment for disease or disorders (e.g. organism infections) where treatment is guided by presence or absence of an allele at a SNP locus as determined by such molecular diagnostic devices.

  • Patent number: 11541180
Abstract: A closure assembly for a medical device, preferably in the form of a tamper evident closure, having an outer sleeve including an open end and a closed end. A tip cap includes a flow restrictor disposed within the sleeve in accessible relation by the medical device through the open end. An indicator member is removably connected to the tip cap within the sleeve and a retainer member is connected to an interior of the sleeve in an interruptive, disconnecting relation to the indicator member by a snap-fit connection. The indicator member is captured within said hollow interior upon removal of said tip cap from the sleeve through the open end. An end cap may be attached to the sleeve, to define a closed end thereof, by a snap-fit connection similar to, but distinguishable from, the snap-fit connection between the retainer member and the interior of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 11413406
Abstract: A tamper evident assembly for retaining a plunger and/or piston within a barrel of a syringe comprises an elongated tether disposed in an operative attachment and position on the syringe. When operatively attached, a connector assembly adjustably and fixedly interconnects the tether to an exterior of the barrel of the syringe concurrently to one end of the tether, and with a retaining member associated with the opposite end of the tether disposed in a removal restrictive relation to the plunger and/or piston, on the interior of the barrel. Movable adjustment of the tether relative to the connector assembly defines a retaining segment which can be disposed into a fixed length and taut orientation, between the ends of the tether, to further define the operative attachment or position.

  • Patent number: 11097071
Abstract: A tamper evident assembly for attachment to a medical connector including a tamper evident cap having an end cap and a tip cap movably and removably disposed in an operative position within the end cap. A retaining structure on the end cap and a retention structure on the tip cap are cooperatively structured to define an interruptive engagement and unidirectional passage of the retention structure over said retaining structure, when disposing the tip cap in the operative position. The interruptive engagement also defines an abutting engagement of said retaining structure with said retention structure, wherein the abutting engagement is preventative of passage of said retention structure over said retaining structure, concurrent to disposition of said tip cap out of said operative position. An included flow controller regulates fluid flow through a connector attached to the tamper evident cap and may establish a path of fluid flow with an attached conduit and the attached connector.

  • Patent number: 11040154
Abstract: A tamper evident closure assembly for a fitting including, but not limited to, use in combination with a female fixture or an enteral fixture. A cap is connectable in flow restricting relation to the fitting and includes an indicator member removably connected to an exterior thereof. A housing is dimensioned to removably contain the cap and the connected indicator member. Subsequent to the fixture being connected to the cap, a removal thereof results in the indicator member being detached from the cap and movably disposed in a captured, detached orientation within the housing. Tampering may be evidenced by the indicator member remaining captivated within the housing which may be determined by visual observation or the generation of sound caused resulting from the housing being shaken.

  • Publication number: 20210177536
Abstract: A method of preparing a robotic surgery apparatus for a medical procedure can include covering a manipulator unit of the robotic surgery apparatus with a first sterile barrier by coupling a drape coupler of the first sterile barrier to a bottom surface of the manipulator unit and wrapping a drape of the first sterile barrier around side and top surfaces of the manipulator unit. The drape can be coupled to the drape coupler. The drape can be made of material that is more flexible than material of the drape coupler. The method can include covering an arm of the robotic surgery apparatus supporting the manipulator unit with a second sterile barrier that is distinct from the first sterile barrier by coupling the second sterile barrier to the arm and wrapping the second sterile barrier around the arm.

  • Patent number: 11020653
Abstract: Acquiring an interactive digital content item including a plurality of content portions includes receiving a first set of the content portions that is less than an entirety of the content portions. A partial functionality version of the interactive digital content item is presented using the first set of content portions. A second set of the content portions is received while the partial functionality version of the interactive digital content item is presented. Functionality is added to the partial functionality version of the interactive digital content item using the second set of content portions without interrupting presentation of the partial functionality version of the interactive digital content item.

  • Patent number: 10953162
Abstract: A tamper evident closure structured for attachment to a connector of a medical device including an end cap, and a tip cap disposed within the end cap in an operative position. An indicator member is removably connected to the end cap. A cover is connected to the end cap and includes an access opening dimensioned to allow the connector of the medical device to be positioned therein, into attachment with said tip cap. Cooperative dimensioning between the periphery of the access opening and the outer surface of the connector results in an engagement therebetween and a closure and the access opening when the connector is disposed there-through into attachment with the tip cap. A twisting or rotation of the tip cap in a single direction, within the end cap results in disconnection of the indicator member from the end cap, thereby providing an indication of tampering.

  • Publication number: 20200405429
Abstract: An instrument adapter for a robotic surgery apparatus can include an adapter housing configured to receive and support an actuator housing of a surgical instrument. The actuator housing can include a plurality of surgical instrument actuators. The adapter can include a plurality of interface actuators configured to engage with the plurality of instrument actuators of the actuator housing and cause movement of the instrument actuators. Movement of the instrument actuators can cause movement of an end effector of the surgical instrument. The instrument adapter can be configured to facilitate the actuator housing of the surgical instrument to transition from a first orientation in which the interface actuators are not engaged with the instrument actuators of the surgical instrument to a second orientation in which the interface actuators are engaged with the instrument actuators.

  • Patent number: 10758684
Abstract: A tamper evident assembly for retaining a plunger and piston within a barrel of a syringe including an elongated tether and a cover connected to the tether and concurrently disposed in an operative position on the syringe. A connector assembly adjustably and fixedly interconnects the tether to the cover in the operative position, wherein the cover is connected in covering relation to a discharge port of the syringe concurrently to a proximal end of the tether being connected to the syringe barrel in a removal preventative relation to the piston.
