  • Patent number: 10113425
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mining method including the step of forming one or more sets of gate roads. Each set of gate roads includes at least two headings typically for providing and retuning ventilation. Dead end plunge cuts extend from the sets of gate roads. Each plunge cut is formed with a continuous miner coupled to a flexible conveyor system. Each plunge cut is greater than 30 meters in length. Advantageously, narrow elongate pillars may be left between adjacent plunge cuts, thereby resulting in greater material removal per volume and improved operating costs when compared with bord and pillar mining.

  • Patent number: 10082025
Abstract: The present invention relates to an open pit mining system. The system includes a material lifting machine configured to both: (1) excavate and remove overburden from an open pit of a mine; and (2) excavate and remove valuable material from the open pit. Advantageously, the machine removes the overburden waste material as well as the mined valuable material which would otherwise be conventionally removed by trucks in the pit, out of the pit up the ramps and then onto the processing plant. Accordingly, the use of trucks for transporting valuable material both along and up out of the pit is at least to some extent reduced thereby resulting in improved cost and energy efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20180232486
Abstract: Using a combinatorial algorithm comprised of quantitative EEG features and at least one pharmacogenomic variable, a significantly higher predictive accuracy and usability is achieved as compared to other current methods of clinical decision support for guided pharmacotherapy. The method produces a report with actionable findings for the treating physician, recommending for and/or against multiple drug classes and agents from among the available treatments for mental health disorders. While predictive accuracy for pharmacogenomic testing averages 73%, the presently disclosed combinatorial algorithms achieve a significantly higher rate of accuracy at 91%.

  • Publication number: 20180100631
Abstract: The present invention relates to a building. The building includes a distributed power supply and a lighting system for being powered by the distributed power supply. The system includes distributed lights for being coupled to the distributed power supply. Covers are provided for covering respective lights. Photoluminescence is borne by each cover. Advantageously, the light charges the photoluminescence borne by the cover. In turn, the cover passively discharges and provides passive illumination in the dark by virtue of the photoluminescence. The building lighting system provides illumination for after-hours personnel in the building after the light is turned off, or in the event of a power disruption when a backup power generator is not present.
