The method includes determining a candidate resource set that is used when a first reference signal is transmitted in the cell that uses the unlicensed frequency band, where the candidate resource set includes a preset resource and at least one flexible candidate resource, determining a first candidate resource that is used when the first reference signal is transmitted in the cell that uses the unlicensed frequency band, where a channel on the unlicensed frequency band corresponding to the first candidate resource is in an idle state, and the first candidate resource is the preset resource or a flexible candidate resource in the candidate resource set, and sending the first reference signal on the first candidate resource.

The method includes defining, for at least one subframe, a set of at least two distinct DM-RS patterns, assigning one DM-RS pattern, from the defined set of DM-RS patterns, to the receiver, and transmitting the information entity on the at least one antenna port associated with the assigned DM-RS pattern.

In the solution, a D2D SPS available period in which a first terminal is capable of using a D2D SPS resource is greater than one SC period. Therefore, in the D2D SPS available period, the first terminal needs to determine the D2D SPS resource only one time, and a second terminal also needs to decode SCI only one time to determine the D2D SPS resource. In this way, the first terminal does not need to determine a D2D SPS resource in each SC period, and the second terminal also does not need to decode SCI in each SC period to determine the D2D SPS resource. Therefore, D2D communication efficiency is improved.
