Abstract: There is provided an x-ray detector having a number of x-ray detector sub-modules. Each detector sub-module is an edge-on detector sub-module having an array of detector elements extending in at least two directions, wherein one of the directions has a component in the direction of incoming x-rays. The detector sub-modules are stacked one after the other and/or arranged side-by-side. For at least part of the detector sub-modules, the detector sub-modules are arranged for providing a gap between adjacent detector sub-modules, where at least part of the gap is not directed linearly towards the x-ray focal point of an x-ray source.

  • Publication number: 20210174574
Abstract: Augmented and virtual reality display systems increase viewer comfort by reducing viewer exposure to virtual content that causes undesirable accommodation-vergence mismatches (AVM). The display systems limit displaying content that exceeds an accommodation-vergence mismatch threshold, which may define a volume around the viewer. The volume may be subdivided into two or more zones, including an innermost loss-of-fusion zone (LoF) in which no content is displayed, and one or more outer AVM zones in which the displaying of content may be stopped, or clipped, under certain conditions. For example, content may be clipped if the viewer is verging within an AVM zone and if the content is displayed within the AVM zone for more than a threshold duration. A further possible condition for clipping content is that the user is verging on that content.

  • Publication number: 20210160211
Abstract: To serve User Equipment (UEs) in a wireless communication network, a control-plane transfers a co-located User Plane Function (UPF) request for a wireless access point ID to a naming system. The naming system detects a co-location translation fault for the wireless access point ID and transfers the wireless access point ID to a controller. The controller determines co-located UPFs for the wireless access node. The controller transfers co-location translation information for the wireless access point ID and co-located UPF IDs to the naming system. The control-plane transfers another co-located UPF request for the wireless access point ID to the naming system. The naming system translates the wireless access point ID into the set of co-located UPF IDs. The naming system transfers the co-located UPF IDs to the control-plane. The control-plane signals the co-located UPFs to serve the UE over the wireless access point.

  • Publication number: 20210152260
Abstract: A wireless sensor includes a radio frequency (RF) front end, a sensing element, and a processing module. The RF front end sends a coded digital value to a sensing computing device via an RF signal. The sensing element senses an environmental condition of an item. The processing module determines an effect on an operational parameter of an RF front end of the wireless sensor as a result of the sensing element sensing the environmental condition. The processing module also adjusts tuning of the RF front end to mitigate the effect on the operational parameter and equates an amount of adjusting of the tuning of the RF front end to the coded digital value.

  • Publication number: 20210145373
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for coherent scattered imaging using a computed tomography system with segmented detector arrays. In one embodiment, a method includes imaging a region of interest with an x-ray source and a segmented photon-counting detector array, detecting a position of an object of interest in the region of interest, selectively scanning, via the x-ray source and the segmented photon-counting detector array, the object of interest, detecting a coherent scatter signal from the object of interest with the segmented photon-counting detector array, and determining a material of the object of interest based on the detected coherent scatter signal. In this way, the coherent scatter signal may be used to identify and investigate lesions or other objects of interest within an imaged volume.

  • Publication number: 20210144119
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a Gateway Control Plane (GW-C) receives a session request for a User Equipment (UE) from an Access Point (AP) that serves the UE. The GW-C transfers a DNS request having an AP ID and network data. A Domain Name System (DNS) translates the AP ID and the network data into an AGW-U ID and an EGW-U ID for co-located GW-Us. The GW-C receives a DNS response and transfers GW control signals using the AGW-U ID and the EGW-U ID. The co-located AGW-U and EGW-U serve the UE responsive to the control signals. In some examples, the selected AGW-U and EGW-U are co-located at the network edge near the AP.
