  • Patent number: 11729136
Abstract: To serve User Equipment (UEs) in a wireless communication network, a control-plane transfers a co-located User Plane Function (UPF) request for a wireless access point ID to a naming system. The naming system detects a co-location translation fault for the wireless access point ID and transfers the wireless access point ID to a controller. The controller determines co-located UPFs for the wireless access node. The controller transfers co-location translation information for the wireless access point ID and co-located UPF IDs to the naming system. The control-plane transfers another co-located UPF request for the wireless access point ID to the naming system. The naming system translates the wireless access point ID into the set of co-located UPF IDs. The naming system transfers the co-located UPF IDs to the control-plane. The control-plane signals the co-located UPFs to serve the UE over the wireless access point.

  • Patent number: 11723611
Abstract: An X-ray detector is provided. The X-ray detector includes multiple detector sub-modules. Each detector sub-module includes a semiconductor layer and multiple detector elements. A plurality of detector elements is disposed on the semiconductor layer. Wiring traces extending from the plurality of detector elements to readout circuitry, where each detector element is coupled to a respective wiring trace. The wiring traces are routed within a gap between adjacent detector elements of the plurality of detector elements. Processing circuitry is configured to perform coincidence detection to determine which detector element of the plurality of detector elements is associated with a location of an X-ray hit when the X-ray coincidently hits one of the detector elements of the plurality of detector elements and one or more of the wiring traces coupled to respective detector elements of the plurality of detector elements.

  • Publication number: 20230230566
Abstract: Rather than a vertical see-saw type of volume pedal for a guitar, a foot-controlled volume pedal for a guitar has a foot pad that swivels in a generally horizontal arc around a pivot point. The foot pad has a pointer at its far end (away from the pivot point) that points to the volume numbers 0-10. The player's heel will generally be over, or close to, the pivot point, and the foot covers the pad or part of the pad. The pivot point comprises a rotatable shaft that is coupled to a smaller rotatable shaft of a conventional potentiometer, by friction, gears, or a belt, for controlling the volume into the guitar amplifier. The rotation ratio of the two shafts may be, for example, 6:1. The swivel arc may be large (e.g., 5-8 inches) so a precise volume can be set between 0-10.

  • Publication number: 20230196898
Abstract: A power supply unit may include a power supply interface, a first interface, a second interface, an input/output (I/O) interface, and a graphics processing unit (GPU). The power supply receives a power supply from a transport vehicle. The first interface is communicatively coupled to a short-range network associated with the transport vehicle. The second interface is coupled to one or more of K, Ka, or KU-band antennas to communicate with one or more of a satellite or a base station. The I/O interface is coupled to one or more sensors. The GPU is coupled to the power supply interface, the first interface, the second interface, and the I/O interface. The GPU may receive data from the one or more sensors, determine an alert based on the received data, and send the alert to one or more computing devices via one or more of the first interface or the second interface.

  • Publication number: 20230185766
Abstract: Technologies for detecting changes in a namespace using namespace enumeration endpoint response payloads are disclosed. A namespace is enumerated at a first time by retrieving response payloads containing metadata describing each location in the namespace from a namespace enumeration endpoint. Signatures are generated based on the response payloads and stored. To determine if changes were made to the namespace between the first time and a subsequent second time, metadata is retrieved from the namespace enumeration endpoint for the namespace at the second time and signatures are generated. Signatures generated at the first time are then compared to the signatures generated at the second time. If the signatures are different, the items in the location in the namespace changed between the first time and the second time. Changes occurring in a location of the namespace can then be identified based on the metadata obtained at the first and second times.

  • Publication number: 20230172388
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sharing capsule image data and beverage preparation parameters, from one or more beverage preparation machines with a remote computer system via a network, such as the Internet, is disclosed. The remote computer system may process the capsule image data to determine characteristics of the capsule (e.g., a type of capsule, such as a brand, or beverage ingredients in the capsule), thereby relieving the beverage preparation from having to determine information about the capsule. The remote computer may track a user's consumption of capsules, may compare this value to the user's past capsule purchase history, and may determine if the user's supply of capsules is below a threshold value (e.g., below a week's worth of capsules).

  • Patent number: 11671879
Abstract: A wireless communication network hands-out a wireless User Equipment (UE) from a non-Third Partnership Project (non-3GPP) access node to a target communication network. An Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) determines UE context for the wireless UE for a data communication session over the non-3GPP access node. The AMF detects when the wireless UE de-attaches from the non-3GPP access node to handover to the target communication network. In response, the AMF transfers the UE context for the wireless UE to a Network Exposure Function (NEF). The NEF receives the UE context for the UE from the AMF and transfer the UE context for the UE to the target communication network.

  • Patent number: 11654506
Abstract: Drill collars may be constructed using solid-state welding processes. Solid-state welding produces robust drill collars with high fatigue lifespans and permits individual segments of the drill collar to be optimized based on their intended use. A drill collar may be formed of a first segment with a different material, density, modulus of elasticity and/or geometry than an adjacent second segment fused thereto. If a segment of a drill collar is damaged in use, the damaged segment may be removed and replaced, possibly without de-rating the drill collar. Methods of forming the solid-state welds may include friction welding adjacent segments to one another such that features in each segment are circumferentially aligned when the weld is formed. Supplemental energy sources may provide additional heat at the welded surfaces to ensure the segments are effectively fused.

  • Publication number: 20230152011
Abstract: A heat pump that includes a thermoelectric device(s) and a heat sink having a raised portion with a top surface for thermally coupling with a planar face of the thermoelectric device(s). The raised portion of the heat sink includes an outer periphery and a raised central region surrounded by a void region to provide more uniform thermal conductivity when clamped within an assembly. The raised central region is shaped in an any shape corresponding to a shape of uneven thermal conductivity due to clamping pressure applied to the heat sink. The void region can be substantially contiguous and entirely circumscribe the central raised region. The device can optionally include discrete supports formed of a less thermally-conductive material within the void region. The supports can be elastomeric, such as O-rings, and disposed within pockets defined within the void region.
