  • Patent number: 11040721
Abstract: Methods for management of a powertrain system in a vehicle. The methods receive data or signals from multiple sensors associated with the vehicle. Optimum thresholds for classifications of the sensor data can be changed based injecting signals into the powertrain system and receiving responsive signals. Expected priorities for the sensor signals can be altered based upon attributes of the signals and confirming actual priorities for the signals. Look-up tables for engine management can be modified based upon injecting signals into the powertrain system and measuring a utility of the responsive signals. The methods can thus dynamically alter and modify data for powertrain management, such as look-up tables, during vehicle operation under a wide range of conditions.

  • Patent number: 10915835
Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing experimental trials on utility grids. Variations in grid parameters are selected to introduce into utility grids to improve the value of learning from each experimental trial and promoting improved utility grid performance by computing expected values for both learning and grid performance. Those trials are used to manage the opportunity costs and constraints that affect the introduction of variations into utility grid parameters and the generation of valid data that can be attributed to particular variations in utility grid parameters.

  • Patent number: 10698371
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards methods and systems for characterizing sensors and developing classifiers for sensor responses on a utility grid. Experiments are conducted by selectively varying utility grid parameters and observing the responses of utility grid to the variation. Methods and systems of this invention then associate the particular responses of the utility grid sensors with specific variations in the grid parameters, based on knowledge of the areas of space and periods of time where the variation in grid parameters may affect the sensor response. This associated data is then used to updating a model of grid response.

  • Patent number: 10637238
Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing experimental trials on utility grids. The variation of grid parameters are coordinated to create periods of time and areas of space from within which the variations of grid parameters do not overlap, allowing sensor data within those periods of time and areas of space to be associated with particular variations in grid parameters. This associated data can in turn be used to improve models of sensor response and utility grid behavior.

  • Publication number: 20200019128
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically optimizing models used for sensor data analytics. An action is taken based on an analytics determination by systematically varying parameters of the analytical model using actions taken based on the analytics to determine the relative frequencies of hits, misses, false alarms, and correct rejections for particular model parameters. The model parameters for local analytics are selected based upon on signal detection theory analysis and the value or cost of each hit, miss, false alarm, or correct rejection.

  • Patent number: 10193384
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically selecting actions to take on a utility grid to simultaneously reduce uncertainty while selecting actions that improve one or more effectiveness metrics. Grid action effects are represented as confidence intervals, the overlap of which is used as a weight when selecting actions within a constrained search space of grid actions. The response of the utility grid to the grid actions may be measured and parsed by the temporal and spatial reach of the grid action, then used to update the confidence intervals for that particular selected grid action.

  • Patent number: 9947018
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for generating time-slot samples to which content may be assigned for measuring effects of the assigned content. Systems and methods provide for receiving viewer visit duration (VVD) that target viewers spend at a location where content is to be presented and receiving time intervals (TI) for data collection for data streams of interest that target viewers can affect during their visit to the location. A time-slot sample duration (TSSD) is determined using VVD and TI. Time-slot samples are generated that have a duration defined by the TSSD and a data collection period defined for at least a portion of the TSSD.
