  • Patent number: 8722073
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bone cement precursor system that is presented in the form of two shelf-stable pastes which have been terminally sterilized and are held in separate containers during product transport and storage. When the product is used during surgery, these pastes inject to a site of application through a static mixing device by the action of applied injection force. When the two pastes are mixed, they start to react to each other while injecting out. The resulting composition is highly biocompatible, osteoconductive, injectable, rapid setting and bioresorbable, and is useful in connection with bone repair procedures, for example, in the craniomaxillofacial, trauma and orthopedic areas.

  • Patent number: 8645386
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing data from a plurality of databases stored on a plurality of disparate servers. A query is received for data from a plurality of databases stored on a plurality of disparate servers. An address for a first server is resolved that stores a first database identified by the catalog field in the query using a logical name-to-connection metadata map. A first sub-query is transmitted to the first server based on the received query, and a first sub-query response is received from the first server. The resolving, transmitting, and receiving are repeated for a second server. The first sub-query response and the second sub-query response are combined to generate a query response according to the received query, and the query response is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8303599
Abstract: A stand for use with a syringe is structured to engage a portion of the syringe in order to maintain the syringe in an upright position. The stand may include an aperture structured to engage the nozzle or the plunger of the syringe. Another embodiment of the stand may include a protrusion structured to engage the proximal end of the syringe, or a clip structured to engage a handle of the syringe. The stand may include a package portion having compartments for holding various components, such as components of a bone cement preparation kit. The proximal and distal portions of the barrel of the syringe may be separable to provide an opening into the barrel through which an injectable material may be inserted. • Publication number: 20110296743
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fuel composition comprising at least one biodiesel fuel and comprising 0.05 to 5% by weight of at least one polymer comprising ester groups, which comprises repeat units derived from ester monomers having 16 to 40 carbon atoms in the alcohol radical, and repeat units derived from ester monomers having 7 to 15 carbon atoms in the alcohol radical, and the polymer comprising ester groups has a weight-average molecular weight in the range from 5000 to 100 000 g/mol. The present invention further describes the use of polymers comprising ester groups as flow improvers in fuel compositions which comprise at least one biodiesel fuel. Surprising advantages can be achieved especially with regard to the improvement of the cloud point and the low-temperature storability.

  • Publication number: 20110214165
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing an application access to an external data source or an external server process via a connection server using an authentication server that has access to an identity map. A credential request is received at the authentication server from the connection server. The credential request includes an identification of the external data source or external server process to be accessed and an account identifier associated with the application or a user of the application. The identity map is searched for a set of credentials associated with both the account identifier and the external data source or external server process. The set of credentials are transmitted from the authentication server to the connection server, for the connection server to establish a connection to the external data source or external server process, where the connection is established without transmitting the set of credentials to the application.
