  • Patent number: 12157199
Abstract: A cylindrical workpiece with a helical axial groove allowing for centerless grinding which has an angular overlap around the outer circumference on the body of the workpiece. The angular overlap ensures continuous tangential contact with the grinding wheels as the workpiece is rotated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 17, 2020
Date of Patent: December 3, 2024
    Assignee: BorgWarner Inc.
Inventors: Adam Bruce, Brian Kenyon, Philippe Alain Clayton
  • Patent number: 11725546
Abstract: A phaser which has an offset or remote pilot valve added to the hydraulic circuit to manage a hydraulic detent switching function, in order to provide a mid-position lock for cold starts of the engine, either during cranking or prior to complete engine shutdown. The mid-position locking of the phaser positions the cam at an optimum position for cold restarts of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20220290587
Abstract: A variable cam timing phaser has a rotor assembly with a central hub defining an axial bore and an interface groove with a first seal land, a second seal land and a single undercut area. A width of the first seal land is greater than a width of the second seal land. The single undercut area is in fluid communication with an axial undercut passage connected to a radial undercut passage within the rotor assembly. A clamping interface is between the camshaft and the rotor assembly, such that a seal is present between first seal land and the first end of the camshaft, and the second seal land and the first end of the camshaft. Fluid from a supply, flows into the passage of the camshaft to the single undercut area, through the axial undercut passage, the radial undercut passage to a passage within the rotor assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220213700
Abstract: A plank scaffold system and, more particularly, to a ladder-based vertically-adjustable plank scaffold system. The system may have a pair of ladders, a wall standoff mounted at the top of each of the ladders, a crane support mounted at the top of each of the ladders, a vertical guide bar and roller system to keep it from swinging on the cables, and a horizontal platform suspended on cables below the crane supports, the platform having a pair of cable winches mounted thereon for varying the elevation of the platform. Instead of ladders, tower scaffolds or stage towers may be used on each side to support the vertically-adjustable plank.

  • Publication number: 20220186639
Abstract: An assembly for a variable cam timing phaser includes a rotor extending circumferentially about an axis. The rotor has a rotor interior surface defining a bore completely therethrough and configured to receive a control valve, has a surface extending radially away from the axis and perpendicular to the rotor interior surface, and has a retention tab integral with the surface and extending axially away from the surface. The assembly further has a trigger plate coupled to the rotor, with the trigger plate defining a retention channel completely therethrough. The retention tab of the rotor is disposed in the retention channel of the trigger plate.
