Abstract: A retrofit canopy luminaire assembly adapted for downward illumination and having a housing with inwardly-directed ledges near the lower edges of the housing. The luminaire has at least two support brackets secured to at least one of the ledges; a face plate removably secured to the brackets on the lower side of the housing; and a hanging tether attached to one of the brackets and to the face plate. The face plate is adapted to hold lighting fixture components. When the face plate is removed from the brackets, the face plate hangs freely held by the tether to allow free access to the inside of the luminaire.

Abstract: Apparatus includes a mounting plate having a hole in a center portion thereof, a recessed light support member having laterally-extending flanges on each of two essentially parallel sides, and a guide disposed on the top surface of the plate, the guide having a longitudinal section offset from the top surface by a distance greater than the thickness of the flanges, where the flanges of the recessed light support member are slidable laterally between the top surface of the plate and the longitudinal section of the guide. A method of servicing a lighting fixture having a can includes sliding the can laterally from a position where the can is centered over the hole to a position where a servicing space is effected between a perimeter of the hole and the can.

Abstract: A lighting fixture includes a base having a hole in a top surface thereof, at least one retaining member disposed on the top surface of the base proximate the hole, a lamp housing having a top portion and a dome-shaped bottom portion, the bottom portion including a perimeter portion having an essentially planar annular end surface sized to surround the hole, at least one boss extending from the perimeter portion of the lamp housing, and a handle attached to the top portion of the lamp housing, where the retaining member is structured for receiving the boss with the annular end surface of the lamp housing abutting the top surface of the base and surrounding the hole, so that rotation of the handle effects twist-locking attachment or detachment of the lamp housing respectively to or from the base by rotating the boss into or out of engagement with the retaining member.

Abstract: A lighting apparatus is provided including a main reflector member having a primary axis and an inner reflective surface for reflecting light to an area to be illuminated; a supplemental reflector member which also serves as a socket cover, smaller than the inner surface of the main reflector member, removably attached with respect to the inner surface of the main reflector member; and a light source configured and arranged such that a portion of the light emitted from the source will be reflected by the supplemental reflector member to the inner reflective surface of the main reflector member for reflection to an area to be illuminated.
