  • Publication number: 20180209288
Abstract: A braze system is disclosed, including a first surface, a second surface, a gap disposed between the first surface and the second surface, a capillary matrix disposed in the gap, and a braze material disposed in contact with the capillary matrix. The capillary matrix includes a matrix structure forming a plurality of capillaries. A brazed article is disclosed in which the braze material is disposed within the plurality of capillaries and contacts the first surface and the second surface. The braze material, the capillary matrix, the first surface, the second surface, and the gap form a brazed portion including less than about 20% voiding. A method for forming a brazed article includes disposing the capillary matrix into the gap, and infusing a braze material into the plurality of capillaries and in contact with the first surface and the second surface, forming the brazed portion.

  • Publication number: 20180200817
Abstract: A method of brazing includes placing a non-foam matrix in a gap and applying a molten braze material to the gap such that the molten braze material flows into the gap and through the non-foam matrix by capillary action to fill the gap and cools to form a solid braze in the gap. A brazed article includes at least one component defining a gap, a non-foam matrix in the gap and a solid braze interspersed through the non-foam matrix. The non-foam matrix and the solid braze fill the gap.

  • Publication number: 20180161902
Abstract: A method includes heating a brazing material in a braze chamber of a first component to a braze temperature to melt the brazing material. The brazing material flows from the braze chamber, through at least one internal channel of the first component, and into a braze gap between the first component and a second component to braze the first component to the second component. A brazed article includes a first component having a braze chamber and at least one internal channel extending from the braze chamber to an external surface, a second component having at least one braze surface separated from the external surface of the first component by a braze gap, and a braze material in the braze gap. A braze assembly includes a first component, a second component, and a brazing material in the braze chamber.

  • Patent number: 8960358
Abstract: A speed-based system for controlling a pump displacement to control a pump flow rate of a hydraulic pump in a vehicle, such as a hybrid. The system includes a plurality of sensors, a controller, and a hydraulic pump. The controller is configured to receive data from the sensors, ascertain a speed of the vehicle, determine a target pump displacement, and transmit the target pump displacement. The target pump displacement is less than a predetermined maximum value when the speed of the vehicle is greater than a first predefined threshold, and equal to the predetermined maximum value when the speed of the vehicle is less than or equal to the first predefined threshold. The hydraulic pump is configured to ascertain an actual pump displacement, receive the target pump displacement from the controller, and alter the actual pump displacement to the target pump displacement.
