  • Publication number: 20160057066
Abstract: Technologies for aligning network flows to processing resources include a computing device having multiple processing nodes, a network switch, and a network controller operating in a software-defined network. Each processing node of the computing device may include a processor, memory, and network adapter. The network switch may receive a network packet and request forwarding information from the network controller. The network controller may determine flow information corresponding to the network packet that indicates the application targeted by the network packet and the processing node executing the application. The flow information may be transmitted to the computing device, which may program a flow filter in the network adapter of the processing node executing the application.

  • Patent number: 8828003
Abstract: A method of milling a calcar region of the femur. The method includes using a miller assembly including a cutter and a frame. The frame has a longitudinal axis and a cutter mount for mounting the cutter at a first angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the frame. The cutter mount extends at the first angle from the longitudinal axis of the frame and receives a portion of the cutter and maintain the received cutter oriented at the first angle during rotation. The frame includes a handle that forms a portion of a drive joint for coupling the frame to a drill. The handle is coupled to the drill and the miller assembly is inserted into the femur such that the cutter is located in the calcar region. The drill is then operated, causing the cutter to rotate and mill bone in the calcar region.

  • Patent number: 8381236
Abstract: In a document personalization production system, an application framework is provided between a production manager and one or more machines to enable new hardware and/or new functions for the creation, production, printing, attachment, and delivery of personalized documents. The application framework provides the application program interfaces, the graphical user interfaces, and the plugins required to implement the new hardware and/or new function into an existing document personalization production system without having to reprogram the production manager. The application framework may comprise or connect a number of service modules so that production manager applications are compatible across multiple machines or stations of the document personalization production system.

  • Patent number: 8278897
Abstract: A power supply converter and a method for adjusting a threshold voltage in the power supply converter. The circuit includes first and second switches having current conducting terminals commonly connected together to form a node. An energy storage element may be connected to the node and a zero current detection comparator may be connected to the node. A first voltage may be provided at the control terminal of the first switch that turns it off. After the first switch is off, determining whether the first switch turned off before or after the current in the energy storage element has reached zero. This may be accomplished by determining whether the voltage at the first node is positive or negative. If the voltage at the first node is negative, the threshold voltage is increased and if the voltage at the first node is positive the threshold voltage is decreased.

  • Patent number: 8167882
Abstract: A miller assembly for creating a cavity in a bone. The cavity has a cross section which has a generally triangular profile having a first side generally parallel with an axis of the bone and a second side forming an acute angle with the first side, and is contiguous with a pre-existing conical cavity in the bone. The miller assembly includes a cutter and a frame for carrying the cutter. The frame includes a connection portion having a longitudinal axis and a cutter mount for mounting the cutter at a first angle approximating the acute angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the connection portion. The cutter mount extends at the first angle from the longitudinal axis of the connection portion and is configured to receive a portion of the cutter and maintain the received cutter oriented at the first angle during rotation. The frame further includes a handle configured to form a portion of a drive joint for coupling the frame to a drill, the handle having a longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 7952418
Abstract: An enhanced transistor gate drive is disclosed in which a pair of Kelvin sense leads measure the voltage potential across at the gate and source of the transistor. The difference in the voltage potential of the Kelvin sense lead from the gate and the Kelvin sense lead of the source is provided to a voltage controlled current source, which compares the output of the voltage differentiator to an oscillating voltage input. Changes to the voltage difference between the Kelvin sense connectors will result in more or less voltage being applied at the gate of the transistor, thereby parasitic inductance in the transistor from causing the device to switch on and off.

  • Patent number: 7903442
Abstract: An alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) power converter comprises a first electrical path in a primary circuit having an inductor coupled in series with a first primary winding and a first switch to a ground connection. A second electrical path in the primary circuit has the inductor coupled in series with a second primary winding and a second switch to the ground connection. A secondary circuit is electromagnetically coupled to the primary circuit.
