  • Patent number: 11446692
Abstract: A pump dispenser has a pump body and a reciprocable plunger with a lock-down mechanism, comprising internal or external lock formations of the plunger and body, such as thread formations, by which the plunger can be locked down for shipping and released subsequently by a rotational release movement. To supplement security for demanding shipping conditions the dispenser also has a supplementary catch mechanism in which respective catch formations of the plunger and body engage selectively in the locked-down position to inhibit the rotational release movement. The catch formations may have circumferentially-directed surfaces which engage between the underside of a plunger head having a shroud and a nozzle and the top of the body beneath the plunger head. They can be released by resilient deformation of one or more of the catch formations.

  • Publication number: 20220285111
Abstract: A high voltage electric switch includes contacts with graphite carbon electrode forming the arc gap. In addition, the carbon contacts are located in a chamber containing at least 60% carbon dioxide (CO2) as a dielectric gas to achieve improved arc interrupting performance. In conventional switches, the metallic contacts introduce metallic vapors into the arc plasma that inhibits the ability of the dielectric gas to interrupt high voltage, high current arcs. As the element carbon is inherently present in CO2 gas, the addition of vapors from the carbon electrodes into the dielectric gas does not significantly interfere with the dielectric arc-interrupting performance of the CO2 dielectric gas.

  • Publication number: 20220263595
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention describe apparatuses, optical systems, and methods for utilizing a dynamically reconfigurable optical transmitter. A laser array outputs a plurality of laser signals (which may further be modulated based on electrical signals), each of the plurality of laser signals having a wavelength, wherein the wavelength of each of the plurality of laser signals is tunable based on other electrical signals. An optical router receives the plurality of (modulated) laser signals at input ports and outputs the plurality of received (modulated) laser signals to one or more output ports based on the tuned wavelength of each of the plurality of received laser signals. This reconfigurable transmitter enables dynamic bandwidth allocation for multiple destinations via the tuning of the laser wavelengths.

  • Patent number: 11417068
Abstract: A system and method for providing an augmented reality (AR) interaction zone to a user of a mobile device to provide remote access to a self-service terminal (SST) having a controller, a display for providing information and instructions to a user, a keypad for entering user data and user commands, and a camera (preferably a depth camera). A mobile device selectively initiates, based on a user command, a transaction by establishing a wireless communications channel with the SST. The controller generates the AR interaction zone based on signals from the camera, provides a signal to the mobile device to display an AR input field on an integral display, processes signals from the camera to monitor the AR interaction zone for user movement corresponding to input, identifies input based on the signals from the camera, and causes the SST to process a requested user transaction based on the identified input.

  • Publication number: 20220247241
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for wirelessly charging a battery in a mobile robot. In an example method in accordance with the disclosure, a mobile robot locates and approaches a wireless battery charging station (by using an onboard camera, for example). The mobile robot then executes an alignment procedure to align a wireless charge receiving pad of the mobile robot with a battery charging pad of the wireless battery charging station. The alignment procedure may involve the mobile robot moving the wireless charge receiving pad in any of three axial directions, such as, backwards, forwards, sideways, upwards, and/or downwards. After alignment is completed, the mobile robot may establish a wireless handshake with the wireless battery charging station. The wireless handshake can include a verification of an authentication of the mobile robot to access the wireless battery charging station, followed by a wireless battery charging operation.
