  • Publication number: 20070293199
Abstract: A method for intercepting calls from a remote or mobile device for customer self-support detects when users or subscribers dial one or more predetermined numbers. If the number corresponds to one of the predetermined numbers (such as a customer support number), the phone may intercept the call and display a list of potential solutions to the subscriber's problems. Various other features and embodiments art disclosed.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20070207795
Abstract: A system for performing interactive services at a mobile device is disclosed. In some cases, the system receives an indication of an event, and provides interactive services to a user of the mobile device based on the event. In some cases, an indication of an event in invokes a script-based process that determines one or more actions to present to a user of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20070173237
Abstract: A method and system for enhancing voice calls is described. In some examples, the system receives a dialed number from a user associated with a voice call, determines that the voice call is associated with a party capable of providing data services to the user, and provides data services to the user. In some cases, the system provides the data services to the user during the voice call. In some cases, the system provides the data services to the user in lieu of the voice call.

  • Publication number: 20020002594
Abstract: Rendering of data on user devices using rendering instructions and interaction rules. The data includes concepts representing data elements and having associated concept identifiers. Using the concept identifiers, a system retrieves rendering instructions for the corresponding data element in order to present the data element on a display of a user device. For interactive elements that can be selected by a user, the system retrieves interaction rules in order to determine how to render data for the interactive element based upon the user's selection of it.

  • Publication number: 20020002548
Abstract: Use of neural network technology to predict the actual arrival and departure times of scheduled airline flights based upon historical and real-time data. Based upon a scheduled airline flight, the system retrieves historical data related to the flight such as information concerning previous delays involving the same flight or delaying involving the departure and arrival airports. The system also retrieves real-time data that may affect the scheduled flight such as weather information or current news involving flight delays. The historical and real-time data is formatted into structured sets and optionally weighted. A neural network processes the structured historical and real-time data based upon the received flight information and provides predicted actual departure and arrival times along with corresponding confidence levels.

  • Publication number: 20010049275
Abstract: Automatically changing the alert state of user devices for time-based and location-based events. In response to a time-based event, such as a scheduled calendar appointment, a system transmits a signal to an associated user device to change its alert state such as from an audible ringer mode to a non-audible vibrate mode. The system can make a similar alert state change upon receiving an indication of a location-based event such as detection of the user device within a particular building geographic area. If the user device is not remote controllable to change its alert state, the system transmits a text message or audio message to the user device to inform the user of the occurrence of the time-based or location-based event.

  • Publication number: 20010047264
Abstract: Automatically making appointments and reservations for requestors according to a protocol for querying service providers and other types of entities. A system server receives a request for an appointment or reservation either for a category of service or a particular entity. Based upon the request, the system server retrieves a protocol for making the appointment or reservation, and possibly to identify entities to contact. The protocol uses concepts to represent information required to make the appointment or reservation. The system server automatically queries entities, optionally using concept-to-audio conversion and voice recognition technology, to make the appointment or reservation, and to provide confirmation to the requester.
