Abstract: A modular utensil holder is operable to hold a utensil and includes a case, a utensil-retaining assembly, and a removable case connector. The case includes wall structure that presents an elongated utensil-receiving opening. The utensil-retaining assembly is confined by the wall structure within the utensil-receiving opening to engage the utensil when the utensil is received in the opening. The case connector is fixed relative to the wall structure, with the case connectors of adjacent utensil holders being removably connectable so as to releasably secure the adjacent utensil holders to one another.

Abstract: Novel coated substrates comprise a substrate and a coating thereon. The coating comprises a polymeric component and a colored oligomer. The colored oligomer is produced from a reactive dye with nucleophilic compounds, and optionally further complexed with organic cationic compounds.

Abstract: The present invention relates to substrates comprising a coating on the surface thereof containing colorant complexes made from specific anionic dyes complexed with cationic compounds, such as substrates having a coating thereon intended to mimic the look and feel of leather. The inventive colored coatings have superior compatibility, transparency, solvent fastness, non-migration and water fastness properties.

Ozone is discharged into the receptacle for a sterilization period when the lid is closed. Discharge of the ozone stops when the lid is opened.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for toasting a piece of bread are disclosed. The apparatus includes a base to support the piece of bread so that the bread can rest thereon. Some heating elements are placed near to the two faces of the bread such that when the bread is conveyed in a horizontal direction while it is kept in a vertical position, the two faces of the bread can be uniformly heated.

Abstract: A photoelectric sensing array assembly is disclosed for use in combination with an optical touch screen that is externally adaptable to a video monitor for serving as an input device to an electronic device connected to the video monitor. More particularly, the photoelectric sensing array utilizes interconnectable segment components of a variety of standardized sizes to permit the construction of optical touch screens of any dimension. In one implementation, first and second pairs of rails are mounted in a frame-like configuration in photoelectric communication for detecting the presence of an opaque object disposed therebetween. Each one of the rails includes a plurality of interconnected segment components having an arrangement of photoelectric elements disposed thereon.

Abstract: Control of a presentation computer is accomplished by a wireless optical pointer that projects an encoded control cursor onto a projection screen in an interactive presentation system. The optical pointer is selectively operable in a position-dependent, control cursor spot projection mode by actuation of a first push button switch that enables remote initiation of various computer keyboard commands and/or pointing device (mouse, touch pad, track ball) position-dependent cursor operations, e.g., select, move, left click, right click and double click. Operation of the pointer in a presentation function selection mode is initiated by actuation of a second push button switch in which a predetermined spatial image pattern can be projected onto the screen by gesturing, thereby enabling remote annotating or highlighting an object on the display screen.

Abstract: An interactive presentation system uses a presentation computer, a computer-controlled image projector and a projection screen, in which control of the presentation computer is accomplished by using a wireless optical pointer that projects an encoded control cursor onto the projection screen. The projected screen images are monitored by a video camera, and the control cursor is scanned, detected and decoded for emulating various keyboard commands and/or pointing device (mouse, touch pad, track ball) position-dependent cursor operations. The control cursor is reliably detected and its coordinate location is accurately determined on the basis of one or more primary image attributes, for example image intensity and image repetition rate, both of which are independent of monitoring angles and pointing device projection angles, and one or more secondary image attributes, for example image size, color and pattern.
