  • Publication number: 20060274211
Abstract: The system and software of the present invention presents a process for translating a source palette containing TV unsafe colors into a resultant modified palette containing only TV safe colors, while preserving the color trends in the source palette. The software will first analyze a source color palette to determine the TV unsafe colors contained therein. For each TV unsafe color in the source color palette, the software determines the closest TV safe color by selecting a TV safe color that is the shortest Euclidean distance from the TV unsafe color. The TV unsafe colors are substituted with the calculated TV safe colors and stored in the resultant palette. The software will divide the color space of the source palette into discrete regions, e.g., by Hue (H), by selecting reference colors as the boundaries of the regions. The initially TV safe color will then be modified in a manner similar to the modifications made on nearby reference colors that were required to make them TV safe.

  • Publication number: 20060080895
Abstract: PCD materials of this invention comprise diamond crystals that are bonded together with a catalyst/binder material. The PCD material is prepared by combining diamond grains with a catalyst/binder material either as a premixture or by infiltration during sintering. The PCD material comprises 15 percent by volume or less diamond grains sized 20 micrometers or less. The diamond grains are pressurized under elevated temperature conditions to form the desired PCD material. PCD materials of this invention can constitute the exclusive material phase of a PCD construction, or can form one or more material phase in a multi-phase material microstructure, wherein the multiple material phase can be arranged in an ordered/oriented or random fashion. PCD materials of this invention display improved properties of impact and fatigue resistance, and functional toughness, when used in complex wear environments, when compared to conventional PCs materials comprising intentionally added fine-sized diamond grains.

  • Publication number: 20060031308
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for indicating most recent documents, such as email messages in a message file. A determination is made as to whether a more recent message in a thread of related messages is present in the message file in response to a first user input selecting a message for processing. A first indication of the more recent message is presented if the more recent message in the thread of related messages is present in the message file. A determination is made as to whether the more recent message in the thread of related messages has been received in the message file in response to a second user input to send the message. A second indication of the more recent message in the thread of related messages is presented if the more recent message in the thread of related messages has been received in the message file.

  • Publication number: 20050180870
Abstract: An automotive engine oil pump assembly having first and second pump mechanisms contained within a common housing. A shaft rotatably supported in the housing drives the pump mechanisms in a conventional manner. The pump mechanisms are offset in phase to reduce flow pulsations through the housing and limit pump noise and vibration. The first pump mechanism communicates with a common inlet and first outlet of the housing. The second pump mechanism communicates with the common inlet and second outlet of the housing. A common reservoir connected to inlets of the first and second oil pump mechanisms provides a supplemental oil source to balance oil pressures at the pump inlets to prevent pump cavitation and further reduce pump noise and vibration.

  • Publication number: 20040245022
Abstract: A bit body formed of a mixture of matrix material and superabrasive powder and including pockets lined with superabrasive-free matrix material, and a method for forming the same, are provided. The pockets are shaped to receive cutting elements therein. The superabrasive-free matrix material enhances braze strength when a cutting element is brazed to surfaces of the pocket. The method for forming the drill bit body includes providing a mold and displacements. The displacements are coated with a mixture of superabrasive free matrix-material and an organic binder. The mold is packed with a mixture of matrix material and superabrasive powder and the arrangement heated to form a solid drill bit body. When the solid bit body is removed from the mold, pockets are formed by the displacements in the bit body and are lined with the layer of superabrasive-free matrix material. The superabrasive material may be diamond, polycrystalline cubic boron nitride, SiC or TiB2 in exemplary embodiments.
