  • Patent number: 10314115
Abstract: A heating tape for a vehicle includes a base layer, an adhesive layer, and an electrically-resistive layer. The base layer has a strap shape and has optical transparency. The adhesive layer is formed of an adhesive having optical transparency. The adhesive layer is formed on one side of the base layer and is adhesive to a window glass of the vehicle. The electrically-resistive layer is formed of an electrically-resistive material having optical transparency. The electrically-resistive layer generates heat when an electric current passes through the electrically-resistive layer.

  • Patent number: 8014293
Abstract: A router comprises a route resolution module to maintain routing information in accordance with a topology of a network, and an indirect next hop manager to maintain indirect next hop data that associates protocol next hops with forwarding next hops. The route resolution module invokes an application programming interface (API) of the indirect next hop manager for associating and disassociating protocol next hops and forwarding next hops. In response to a network event, the route resolution module can modify the indirect next hop data to reduce the time and resources necessary to perform route resolution.

  • Publication number: 20040016147
Abstract: Disclosed are footwear products incorporating the use of the hyper allergenic properties of metallic silver materials therein, and more particularly, disclosed are insoles, liners, and footwear incorporating metallic silver material arranged so as to provide total contact or proximity with a user foot or footwear itself in order to avail the user foot the antifungal and antimicrobial benefits of clean smelling feet, deodorization of footwear and the wearability benefits of silver's heat distribution capabilities. Elemental silver (Ag) preventing fungal and bacterial growth which can be used on or near a person's body. There is a need for a long-lasting and durable method to prevent the growth of odor causing bacteria and fungus in footwear products. The problem of odors from bacteria can be especially noticed in footwear.

  • Patent number: 6301447
Abstract: A method and system for the creation and viewing of stereoscopic immersive images. By creating two immersive images from an offset camera platform, the illusion of depth can be provided by a left and right view in the form of an interactive panoramic image. By capturing two immersive images on a fixture with horizontal separation of the centers of each immersive image, each constructed from a sequence of fisheye images that are captured in a constant direction and seamed together, two files that can be used to produce a stereoscopic display are created. The resulting files can be displayed using any number of stereoscopic displays including dual monitors, one for each eye, or shuttered displays for each eye from a single monitor, or displays with polarized filters directing separate views to each eye.

  • Patent number: 5854901
Abstract: An IP address is automatically discovered by a network endpoint, such as a PC or router. The endpoint listens for a broadcast network packet or promiscuously listens for a unicast network packet sent from a web browser from a host system. The network packet includes the IP address for the host system and a preselected IP domain name. The IP domain name is used to initiate the address discovery in the endpoint. The IP address from the host system is used by the endpoint as a seed for generating a proposed IP network address. The endpoint then uses an address resolution protocol (ARP) to determine whether the proposed IP address is currently assigned to any other device in the network. If no device in the network responds to the ARP request, the proposed IP address constitutes a unique address on a network segment. Because the proposed address is not used by any other device in the subnetwork, it is self-assigned to the endpoint.

  • Patent number: 5473599
Abstract: A system and protocol are provided for routing data packets from a host on a LAN through a virtual address belonging to a group of routers. The host is configured to point to the virtual address so that the packets it sends out of its LAN are always directed to a virtual router which may be any one of the group of routers. An active router in the group of routers emulates the virtual router. A standby router, also from the group of routers, backs up the active router so that if the active router becomes inoperative, the standby router automatically begins emulating the virtual router. The host router does not know which router from the group is actually handling the data packets it sends. If the standby router becomes inoperative or takes over for the active router, other routers in the group hold an election to determine which of them should take over for the standby router.

  • Patent number: 4780378
Abstract: A relief/check valve for venting an electric storage battery comprising essentially an annular sealing member having an elastomeric skirt engaging the sloping exterior surface of a valve seat. The skirt flares outwardly from the seat in direct proportion to the pressure in the battery such as to prevent excessive build up of pressure in the battery when the gassing rate is high. The skirt quickly returns to a sealing condition when the pressure within the battery drops below the opening pressure of the valve.
