  • Patent number: 6842892
Abstract: An API optimizer generates an API (application program interface) customized to a particular process. The resulting optimized API includes API services that minimize network access. The API optimizer applies heuristic rules from a rules database to generate, on the basis of the application logic flow for that application and the set of objects, those services that minimize network access.

  • Patent number: 6799749
Abstract: A jack includes a base, a load rest, first and second lower arms each pivotable to the base, and first and second upper arms each pivotable to the load rest. The first lower arm and the first upper arm are pivotably connected at a first joint and the second lower arm and the second upper arm are pivotably connected at a second joint. A drive screw moves the joints toward and away from each other upon rotation of the drive screw. A bearing receives the drive screw therethrough. The arms each form a longitudinally extending channel and the bearing is located outside the channels. The bearing has a lateral width greater than a lateral width of the channels and is located between a bearing engagement surface of a bearing support and an abutment of the drive screw.

  • Publication number: 20040097466
Abstract: The invention as described comprises a method and composition for enhanced absorption of arginine in mammals, for the treatment of the cellular environment in cardiovascular diseases comprising the step of administering to a patient a therapeutically-effective amount of polyarginine and co-administering a therapeutically-effective amount of heparin or its functional analog or their physiologically acceptable salt. The dose of polyarginine administered to the patient is between approximately 100 mg to 6000 mg daily. Optionally, the dose of polyarginine administered to the patient is between approximately 200 mg to 1900 mg daily. Optionally, the dose of polyarginine administered to the patient is between approximately 400 mg to 1800 mg daily.

  • Publication number: 20030184082
Abstract: An erasable and rewritable label comprises a base layer (2) of contrasting colour and an upper sheet (3) over the base layer. The upper sheet (4) and base layer (2) are mutually adhesive under pressure applied to the label by a writing implement on the upper sheet. Writing on the upper sheet (3) causes it to adhere to the base layer (2) in the localised region of writing where the colour of the base layer (2) is visible through the upper sheet (3) in contrast. The upper sheet (3) is held relative to the base layer (2) such that by wiping a user's finger or thumb over the top surface of the label the upper sheet (3) may be moved relative to the base layer (2) to erase the label. At least one wrinkle (9) in the upper sheet may be moved along the upper sheet, or the upper sheet may be moved elastically, to erase by wiping a user's finger or thumb over the surface of the label. The label may also comprise a protective top sheet (4) and have an adhesive rear surface.

  • Patent number: 6427981
Abstract: A tire carrier assembly for storing a spare tire of a motor vehicle includes a tire carrier adapted for supporting the spare tire, a winch assembly operably connected to the tire carrier to raise and lower the tire carrier between a stowed position wherein the tire is inaccessible and a deployed position wherein the tire is accessible, and a latch assembly. The latch assembly includes at least one latch member and an actuator adapted to selectively move the latch member between a locking position wherein the latch member prevents movement of the tire carrier from the stowed position to the deployed position and an unlocking position wherein the latch member permits movement of the tire carrier from the stowed position to the deployed position. The actuator includes a push-pull cable and a pull handle such that the operator manually pulls the cable to move the latch member from the locking position to the unlocking position.

  • Patent number: 6267546
Abstract: A tire carrier assembly for storing a spare tire of a motor vehicle includes a tire carrier for supporting the spare tire and having a swivel with a shank portion and a head portion along the shank portion, a winch assembly operably connected to the tire carrier with a cable or rope to raise and lower the tire carrier between upper and lower positions, a housing assembly forming a horizontal support surface, and a secondary latch assembly secured to the housing assembly and adapted to selectively confine the tire carrier in the upper position. The secondary latch assembly includes a sliding latch member supported by the horizontal support surface and an actuator adapted to selectively move the latch member along a linear path between a locking position and an unlocking position.

  • Patent number: 6058605
Abstract: A process for forming angled trim lines on vehicle frame cross members to mate and secure the ends of the cross members with frame side rail members with a high degree of accuracy and in a cost efficient manner. The process includes the steps of removing portions of the end of a rectangular tube to form angled trim lines and connecting the angled trim lines with the frame side rail member. A cam trimming die is used to form the angled trim lines. The die includes substantially symmetrical drivers, slide cams, and filler cams. The drivers move the slide cams and filler cams in opposing directions. The slide cams carry cutting steels that form the angled trim lines as the slide cam moves. The filler cams support the rectangular tube and produce a sheering effect with the cutting steels as they move past one another.
