  • Patent number: 11068789
Abstract: A commercial process with a dependent variable can be associated with a set of independent variables. The commercial process can continuously provide data collection opportunities. An intervention is designed using a model to predict the dependent outcome. The actual outcome of the intervention can be determined within the window of utility for these data. One objective is to improve intervention outcomes with prediction. Purely random outcomes (no model prediction) and outcomes resulting from the intervention (model operations) are aggregated into separate files—a sequence of control model data files and a sequence of model data files of operational data. These model data files and control model data files are used to analyze model performance and to react automatically when identified conditions warrant.

  • Patent number: 11069044
Abstract: Methods and systems disclosed herein relate generally to systems and methods for using image-layer snapshots to eliminate image artifacts. A pixel-adjustment module receives an indication of the selected region within a first image layer of an image. In response, the pixel-adjustment module generates a first snapshot of the first image layer, in which the first snapshot includes pixel data for restoring a first state of the first image layer at which the selected region is yet to be modified. The pixel-adjustment module generates a second image layer, in which the image structure-modification operation is applied to the pixel of the second image layer that corresponds to the selected region. The pixel-adjustment module modifies a pixel in the selected region to include at least part of the pixel data from the first snapshot.

  • Patent number: 11061375
Abstract: A convenient, water-saving and labor-saving FROG irrigation controller and system are provided, which determine the appropriate water budget and schedule for the property's landscaping based on evapotranspiration data for the geographic area, any regulation data, and property-specific data, with consideration given to reduction in watering days, increase in soil watering depth, and day of year. Once set, the FROG controller provides incremental adjustments over the course of the year; the homeowner no longer needs to re-set the watering program seasonally to automatically comply with local mandated and voluntary watering restrictions. One aspect provides a web-based wizard that is used to determine a customized water budget/schedule which is input into the FROG controller. Another aspect provides an integration of a network of FROG controllers with a central command unit.

  • Publication number: 20210162066
Abstract: The invention discloses the use of single-stranded RNA toeholds of different lengths to promote the re-association of various RNA-DNA hybrids, which results in activation of multiple split functionalities inside human cells. Previously designed RNA/DNA nanoparticles employed single-stranded DNA toeholds to initiate re-association. The use of RNA toeholds is advantageous because of the simpler design rules, the shorter toeholds, and the smaller size of the resulting nanoparticles compared to the same hybrid nanoparticles with single-stranded DNA toeholds. Moreover, the co-transcriptional assemblies result in higher yields for hybrid nanoparticles with ssRNA toeholds.

  • Publication number: 20200270831
Abstract: An energy-absorbing vehicle barrier system is provided. The energy-absorbing vehicle barrier system provides a series of spaced apart barrier units, wherein adjacent barrier units are interconnected by a cable linkage, enabling the modularity that limits damage to the barrier system and facilitates segmented replacement. Each barrier unit provides a vertically spaced apart net of longitudinal cables, each longitudinal cable terminates adjacent the opposing end faces of its barrier unit in the form of a loop, protruding through the end face. The resulting column of spaced apart loops nest with the adjacent barrier unit's column of spaced apart loops in an aligned configuration so that a pin secures both sets of columns, providing the cable linkage. The barrier units are made from no fine concrete that crumbles upon collision so as to absorb energy. The system sits on a substructure also adapted to absorb the energy of a high-speed collision.
