  • Patent number: 10394206
Abstract: A convenient, water-saving and labor-saving FROG irrigation controller and system are provided, which determine the appropriate water budget and schedule for the property's landscaping based on evapotranspiration data for the geographic area, regulation data (any mandated and voluntary watering restrictions), and property-specific data, with consideration given to reduction in watering days, increase in soil watering depth, and day of year. Once set, the FROG controller provides incremental adjustments over the course of the year; the homeowner no longer needs to re-set the watering program seasonally to comply with local mandated and voluntary watering restrictions. Compliance is automatic and obligatory, meeting the water saving goals of the local water authority. Optionally presented is a web-based wizard used to determine a customized water budget/schedule that is input into the FROG controller through a data storage unit or wireless input.

  • Publication number: 20190192687
Abstract: The invention discloses the use of single-stranded RNA toeholds of different lengths to promote the re-association of various RNA-DNA hybrids, which results in activation of multiple split functionalities inside human cells. Previously designed RNA/DNA nanoparticles employed single-stranded DNA toeholds to initiate re-association. The use of RNA toeholds is advantageous because of the simpler design rules, the shorter toeholds, and the smaller size of the resulting nanoparticles compared to the same hybrid nanoparticles with single-stranded DNA toeholds. Moreover, the co-transcriptional assemblies result in higher yields for hybrid nanoparticles with ssRNA toeholds.

  • Patent number: 10316588
Abstract: A pipe shaker apparatus is configured to shake within a pipe and cause the pipe to vibrate. The pipe shaker apparatus includes a rotor having an offset mass. The offset mass is offset from a longitudinal axis through a first end piece of the rotor at a first end of the rotor and a second end piece of the rotor at a second end of the rotor. The pipe shaker apparatus also includes a tubular body having first and second ends. First and second end caps are arranged at first and second ends of the tubular body such that air is able to pass through the first end cap, enter the tubular body, cause the rotor to rotate, and exit the tubular body through the second end cap. The rotor is arranged such that rotation of the rotor by the air cases the offset mass to shake the pipe shaker apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20190106638
Abstract: A method of producing reformed gas as part of a Fischer-Tropsch (“FT”) hydrocarbon synthesis is disclosed, including the steps of superheating at least a first portion of an FT tail gas produced as a by-product of an FT synthesis process, and forming a mixed gas by injecting at least a portion of an FT water stream, produced as a by-product of an FT synthesis process, into the superheated FT tail gas to form a mixed gas. The mixed gas is used as a feed to a front end of a syngas preparation unit. The amount of at least a portion of the FT water stream is selected to keep the mixed gas at least mostly and preferably entirely in a vapor phase. In some embodiments, a water-gas shift reactor converts the mixed gas to a converted mixed gas upstream of the front end. Other methods, apparatuses and systems are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10180128
Abstract: The present subject matter is directed to a method for managing and/or categorizing trip faults of an electrical component, such as power converter, of a wind turbine. The method includes receiving, via a local controller of the wind turbine, an indication of at least one trip fault in the electrical component of the wind turbine. The method also includes determining, via the local controller, a unique identifier for the trip fault. More specifically, the unique identifier contains information regarding a type of the trip fault and at least one of an origin or a cause, of the trip fault. Further, the method includes sending, via the local controller, the unique identifier to a supervisory controller of the wind turbine. Thus, the method also includes implementing, via the supervisory controller, a control action based on the unique identifier.
