  • Publication number: 20100026312
Abstract: A method of testing a power system component is disclosed. The method comprises coupling a test set to the power system component and displaying a test form on a display integral with the test set. The method also comprises inputting at least a first test control parameter into the test form using an interface integral with the test set. The method also comprises stimulating the power system component using the test set to produce a first response of the power system component, wherein the stimulating is performed based at least in part on the first test control parameter. The method also comprises displaying a first test result in the test form on the display, wherein the first test result is based on the first response.

  • Publication number: 20090245588
Abstract: An image (100) of particulate material, such as an X-ray image of coal, is captured and processed to determine a parameter of the material, such as particle density or particle size distribution. The performance or efficiency of a processing system, such as a dense medium separator, can be evaluated by determining parameters of the material before entry to and after exit from the processing system. The parameter is determined by comparing image characteristics (relating to statistical features), to a predetermined set of image characteristics. If the image (100) is obtained by transmission of radiation through the material, accuracy can be improved by measuring the thickness of the material.

  • Publication number: 20090169149
Abstract: An optical ring resonator modulator comprises a circular waveguide, or ring, evanescently coupled to a first straight waveguide and a second straight waveguide. The ring may be surrounded by an outer ring or member of doped silicon and the region inside the ring may comprise an oppositely doped member, making the ring itself the intrinsic region of a positive-intrinsic-negative (PIN) diode. When a voltage is applied between the outer and inner members the refractive index of the waveguide is changed. A photodiode at a throughput end of the first waveguide is connected to a feedback loop that controls the voltage to the members.

  • Publication number: 20090100007
Abstract: A system is disclosed for customizing a geographic location index based on user preferences. The system obtains geographic data provided by a user and generates a customized geographic region based on the obtained geographic data. The system generates relationship data corresponding to the new customized geographic region. The system updates the geographic location index based on the new customized geographic region and corresponding relationship data. Thereafter, on-line content may be delivered to an audience associated with the new customized geographic region, thereby allowing the user, such as an advertiser or publisher, to define targeting regions that are optimal to their specific business environment.

  • Patent number: 7288761
Abstract: The invention provides a multipole ion trap. The trap has a longitudinal axis. An oscillating on-axis potential is set up along the longitudinal axis, providing a potential well in which ions are trapped. In some embodiments, rods forming the poles are symmetrically and equidistantly positioned about the longitudinal axis and RF signal with different magnitudes are applied to the poles. In other embodiments, the rods are not positioned symmetrically about the longitudinal axis and the RF signals applied to the poles may have the same or different magnitudes. Poles used in the invention may include two or more rods. An ion trap according to the invention may include more than two poles, and in some embodiments, a third or additional pole may be added to provide the oscillating on-axis potential. The ion trap may be used mass selectively scan ions, fragment ions and to trap and separate differently charged ions, among other uses.

  • Publication number: 20030186750
Abstract: The 2004R Input Shaft is one of the parts in a 2004R Automatic Transmission, which was designed by General Motors. Under normal driving conditions the stock/factory input shaft does not usually break. But under severe duty and high performance driving these stock/factory input shafts are unable to handle the increased torque and power associated with this type of driving. The 2004R Billet Input Shaft is made from a hardened and heat-treated 300 M steel. This steel makes the Billet input shaft much more durable and considerably stronger than the stock/factory input shaft. Some of the “grooves” cut into the 2004R Billet Input Shaft have had the diameters changed (from the stock/factory blue print specifications) to accommodate teflon sealing rings, instead of using the factory metal rings. Teflon rings provide better sealing qualities. One end of the 2004R Billet Input Shaft has an oil feed hole which is smaller in diameter than the stock/factory hole.

  • Patent number: 6562631
Abstract: The present invention provides an analyte detection device. The device comprises first and second zones, means to allow addition of a probe to the first zone, means to allow addition of a sample suspected to contain an analyte and means to allow passage of the probe from the first zone to the second zone. The first zone contains ligands reactive with the analyte and the second zone includes a membrane the impedance of which is dependent on the presence or absence of the probe and means to measure the impedance of the membrane. It is preferred that the probe includes an ionophore, preferably gramicidin. The present invention also relates to methods of detecting the presence of an analyte.

  • Publication number: 20020182002
Abstract: The 2004R Stock Intermediate Shaft Forward Drum is one of the parts in a 2004R Automatic Transmission. The factory Forward Drum is too weak for high performance or heavy duty uses. The factory Drum Shaft is removed and replaced with a Shaft made from a stronger metal. The NEW Shaft also has a collar added to one end for added strength and stability. The NEW Shaft is then welded into the Drum using a specific welding process. This process utilizes a special laser to do the welding and is performed in a vacuum-sealed receptacle. The holes around the Drum are enlarged to allow better oil circulation.

  • Patent number: 6348319
Abstract: The present invention provides a biosensor for use in detecting the presence of an enzyme or enzymes in a sample. The biosensor comprises a membrane and means for determining the impedance of the membrane. The membrane includes ionophores therein to which are attached linkers. The linkers are cleavable by the enzyme or enzymes to be detected, with the cleavage of the linker causing a change in the ability of ions to pass through the membrane via the ionophores.
