Publication number: 20050220031Abstract: Determination of the location of an error condition or a failure includes receiving at a network interface a first framed digital signal from customer premises equipment, and determining whether the first framed digital signal indicates a failure. Overhead bits are modified in the first framed digital signal to generate a second framed digital signal, such that the modification is equivalent to insertion of errors into the first framed digital signal at a bit error ratio (BER) of not greater than a predetermined ratio, if the first framed digital signal indicates a failure. The second framed digital signal is then sent from the network interface in place of the first framed digital signal to indicate that the failure reported by the first framed digital signal is located in the customer premises equipment. Otherwise, if no failure is indicated, the first framed digital signal is transmitted without any modifications.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2005Publication date: October 6, 2005Inventors: Bruce Barton, Paul Hartmann, Maynard Wright

Patent number: 6843490Abstract: The present invention provides a suspension beam and bush attachment assembly. The assembly comprises a longitudinally extending control arm, a bush eye clamp, and a mounting bracket. The control arm has a bush end, a mid-region, an axle mount formed opposite of the bush end, and one or more fastener bore. The bush eye clamp is transversely mounted to the bush end of the control arm and has a center bore configured for receiving a bush therein and an axial slot biasing the bushing eye clamp open for bush insertion. To securely position the bush within the bush eye clamp, the mounting bracket is affixed to the bushing eye clamp and has one or more fastener bores substantially aligned with the one or more fastener bores of the control arm such that securing a fastener through each of the bores of the bracket and control arm couples the bracket to the control arm and biases the axial slot into a substantially closed position to contact and compress a perimeter of the bush with the bush eye clamp.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2002Date of Patent: January 18, 2005Assignee: Ridewell CorporationInventors: John Raidel, II, Bruce Barton, Jason Klein, Emmitt Scammahorn

Publication number: 20040207864Abstract: One method operates a printer-controller application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) by applying a predetermined voltage to an analog input pin which identifies a desired operating mode (such as, but not limited to, one of at least several test modes) of the ASIC. An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) converts the voltage to a digital output which is used to configure the ASIC to operate in the desired operating mode. Another method operates a printer by applying a predetermined voltage to an analog input pin of an ADC which identifies the printer (such as, without limitation, the particular make or the particular make and model of the printer). The digital output of the ADC is used to configure a printer-controller ASIC to operate with the identified printer (such as, but not limited to, setting the maintenance cycle timing and/or setting the default printing mode required by the identified printer).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2003Publication date: October 21, 2004Inventors: Steven Donald Combs, Tung-Fu Hsieh, Brian Keith Owens, Bruce Barton Vance
