  • Publication number: 20200231471
Abstract: The improved water purification system includes a water purification unit having a tap water inflow port for receiving a tap water inflow from a water supply system to produce relatively purified water and a brine water outflow having impurities concentrated therein. An RO filter having an RO membrane separates relatively unfiltered water flow into purified water and the brine water outflow. A flush flow activation chamber fluidly coupled to the brine water outflow includes a plunger for substantially occluding brine water outflow through the brine outflow port when seated, and substantially permits brine water outflow to exit the purification unit through the brine outflow port when unseated. Accordingly, the activation chamber generates back pressure within the water purification system to flash flow tap water inflow into the purification unit and through the RO membrane when the plunger moves from being seated to unseated, thereby substantially refreshing said RO membrane.

  • Patent number: 10716430
Abstract: The method for regulating pressure in a beverage brewer as disclosed herein includes initiating a brew cycle, which initiates a feedback loop. A temperature sensor monitors the water temperature in a heater tank, and one or more heating elements activate to heat the water to the appropriate temperature if necessary. An ammeter monitors the amperage of an electric current drawn by a pump. If the amperage is above a current ceiling, a voltage regulator reduces the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump, thereby reducing the pressure in the brew cartridge. The voltage regulator increases the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump to increase pressure in brew cartridge if the amperage of the electric current is below a current floor. Once the voltage regulator adjusts the voltage, the ammeter monitors the amperage of the pump.

  • Publication number: 20200189902
Abstract: A system and method determines an amount of water and water flow rate in a water dispenser system including a container/bottle, using a strain gage device(s) mounted on a structure or plane in relationship to the container/bottle. One or more strain gages are configured in a position to measure force per unit area, exerted by a portion of the water container/bottle in a normal or direction substantially perpendicular to a surface or plane on which the strain gage device(s) are mounted. The portion of the container/bottle is positioned in direct or indirect contact with the one or more strain gages to produce a strain gage signal representative of the amount of water in the container/bottle and periodic sampling of the strain gage signal is representative of flow rate of water from the container/bottle. Signals from the strain gage(s) are processed in a manner that allows the amount and rate of consumption of water to be monitored and determined automatically on-site or remotely.

  • Publication number: 20200093315
Abstract: A coffee brewing system includes a brew vessel adapted to receive water and ground coffee to produce and store a brewed beverage. The brew vessel includes a filter and a magnet stirrer in the lower portion of the brew vessel. The magnet stirrer creates a water vortex for brewing the coffee. The used coffee grounds are allowed to settle on the filter creating a bed of used coffee grounds and the coffee is then filtered through both the bed of used coffee grounds and the filter and collected in a coffee storage container.

  • Patent number: 10562795
Abstract: The water purification system for flow-coupled installation with a tap water inflow for producing a relatively purified water outflow includes a purification unit having a tap water inlet port for receiving tap water inflow and a purified water outlet port for dispensing purified water outflow from said purification unit. A particulate catalyst retained within the purification unit is in flow through relation relative to the water inflow and purified water outflow and catalyzes contaminants as the tap water inflow travels through the purification unit. A sound wave particulate agitator associated translates vibration to the particulate catalyst for substantially preventing channeling therein during relatively slow tap water inflow through the purification unit.

  • Publication number: 20200048108
Abstract: A top fill water reservoir system that allows the reservoirs to be filled without waiting for a reverse osmosis (RO) filter to produce enough water to fill the system and avoids the need for a service worker to remove the system from the cabinet, or wait for RO filtration, to fill the reservoirs. The top fill water reservoir system comprises a drinking reservoir adapted to store and dispense drinking water. A supply reservoir in fluid communication with the drinking reservoir and adapted to feed water into the drinking reservoir and receive water from a reverse osmosis (RO) filter. An overflow tube adapted to connect an upper portion of the drinking reservoir to the supply reservoir and feed overflow water from the drinking reservoir to the supply reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20190112213
Abstract: A drainless reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system provides relatively pure water for on-demand dispensing, while recycling brine to a domestic hot water system. The drainless purification system includes a pre-filter catalyst cartridge for removing chlorine-based contaminants from a tap water supply upstream from an RO membrane. The catalyst is regularly refreshed by a high through-flow of water to a conventional cold water dispense faucet, thereby significantly prolonging the service life of the RO membrane. The RO membrane is incorporated into a multi-cartridge unit adapted for facilitated slide-out removal and replacement as needed. A control valve recycles brine from the RO membrane to the hot water system during pure water production, and recirculates tap water through the RO membrane when a pure water reservoir is substantially filled. The multi-cartridge unit may further include an air filtration system for providing a flow of filtered air.

  • Patent number: 9968218
Abstract: A brewer for brewing beverages in a brew basket, such as loose coffee or tea, is provided, where the flow of water to the brew basket alternates between water brewing phases and steam brewing phases during a single brew cycle, resulting in comparatively higher temperatures of water in the brew basket than conventional brewers. The frequency and duration of the water brewing phases and steam brewing phases during a brew cycle can be electronically controlled according to one or more predetermined programs. A reinforcing band is also provided for the lighted brew basket interior to strengthen the brewer head bowl in this area, and a single cup insert is also provided.
