  • Patent number: 9919933
Abstract: The water purification system for flow-coupled installation with a tap water inflow for producing a relatively purified water outflow includes a purification unit having a tap water inlet port for receiving tap water inflow and a purified water outlet port for dispensing purified water outflow from said purification unit. A particulate catalyst retained within the purification unit is in flow through relation relative to said the water inflow and purified water outflow and catalyzes contaminants as the tap water inflow travels through the purification unit. A particulate agitator associated translates vibration to the particulate catalyst for substantially preventing channeling therein during relatively slow tap water inflow through the purification unit.

  • Publication number: 20180014689
Abstract: The method for regulating pressure in a beverage brewer as disclosed herein includes initiating a brew cycle, which initiates a feedback loop. A temperature sensor monitors the water temperature in a heater tank, and one or more heating elements activate to heat the water to the appropriate temperature if necessary. An ammeter monitors the amperage of an electric current drawn by a pump. If the amperage is above a current ceiling, a voltage regulator reduces the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump, thereby reducing the pressure in the brew cartridge. The voltage regulator increases the voltage of electric current supplied to the pump to increase pressure in brew cartridge if the amperage of the electric current is below a current floor. Once the voltage regulator adjusts the voltage, the ammeter monitors the amperage of the pump.

  • Publication number: 20170290458
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for brewing beverages. A brewing system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure comprises a fluid conduit system, an air conduit system, a valve, and a pump. The valve is coupled to the fluid conduit system and the air conduit system. The pump is coupled to the valve. The valve selectively accesses the fluid conduit system and the air conduit system such that the pump selectively pumps fluid and selectively pumps air.

  • Publication number: 20170172338
Abstract: The brewing system disclosed herein includes a spinning or rotating inlet nozzle for use in intermixing hot water and coffee in a coffee cartridge. The inlet nozzle may include one or more flow ports that inject hot water into an inner chamber of the coffee cartridge at select angles, locations and pressures to create the desired fluidized mixture of hot water and beverage medium. Such an inlet nozzle may be adapted for use in commercial coffee brewers and the amount of coffee brewed may be user regulated with an external indicator dial coupled to a controller-regulated rheostat that governs fluid flow to the brewer head by taking readings from a pump, flow meter or strain gauge.

  • Publication number: 20170027367
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for controlling fluid temperature. A beverage brewer in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure comprises a sensor, a pump, a heating tank, and a controller. The controller is coupled to the sensor, the heating tank, and the pump. The controller selectively activates the pump to deliver a fluid to the heating tank based at least in part on an output of the sensor. A temperature of the fluid is maintained at a desired temperature by the controller.

  • Publication number: 20160280575
Abstract: A drainless reverse osmosis (RO) water purification system provides relatively pure water for on-demand dispensing, while recycling brine to a domestic hot water system. The drainless purification system includes a pre-filter catalyst cartridge for removing chlorine-based contaminants from a tap water supply upstream from an RO membrane. The catalyst is regularly refreshed by a high through-flow of water to a conventional cold water dispense faucet, thereby significantly prolonging the service life of the RO membrane. The RO membrane is incorporated into a multi-cartridge unit adapted for facilitated slide-out removal and replacement as needed. A control valve recycles brine from the RO membrane to the hot water system during pure water production, and recirculates tap water through the RO membrane when a pure water reservoir is substantially filled. The multi-cartridge unit may further include an air filtration system for providing a flow of filtered air.
