  • Patent number: 7597396
Abstract: An infant travel system which include an infant travel seat that is adapted to be mounted to a stationary or mobile base. The base includes a restraint system for securing the base to a vehicle seat and a leveling system for positioning the base. The travel seat includes an adjustable carrying handle assembly having a locking mechanism adapted to engage the seat in a variety of positions. A multi-point locking system is used to secure the infant travel seat to the complimentary base.

  • Publication number: 20090127828
Abstract: An actuating system for a foldable stroller including a foldable stroller frame having left and right front legs and left and right rear legs and a wheel mounted to each leg. The frame includes an operator handle having left and right support rails extending therefrom and connected to the left and right rear legs. At least one locking member is movably connected to at least one the support rails and biased toward a locking position to secure the connection between the left and right support rails and the left and right rear legs. A support member having an actuator connected thereto is connected between the left and right support rails. The actuator is coupled to the at least one locking member. An operator tray is removably connected to the support member and includes at least one recess formed therein for receiving at least a portion of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6140535
Abstract: A process as provided for producing an acetic acid process stream having less than 400 ppm propionic acid and less than 1500 ppm water. Methanol or a reactive derivative thereof and carbon monoxide is fed to a carbonylation reactor in which there is maintained during the course of the process a liquid reaction composition containing an iridium carbonylation catalyst, methyl iodide co-catalyst, a promoter, water at a concentration of less than about 8% by weight, methyl acetate, acetic acid, and propionic acid by-product and its precursors. Liquid reaction composition is withdrawn from the carbonylation reactor and introduced to a flash zone to form a vapor fraction comprising water, acetic acid product, propionic acid by-product, methyl acetate, methyl iodide and propionic acid precursors, and a liquid fraction comprising involatile iridium catalyst, involatile optional promoter or promoters, acetic acid and water.

  • Patent number: 5568907
Abstract: A dynamic wrist rest for use with a computer keyboard for the prevention of carpel tunnel syndrome is provided. The wrist rest provides for a constant up and down motion of the wrist through an internally mounted pressure sensitive air bladder. The up and down motion can also be provided by a motor and gear driven belt and pulley system that provides a lower speed and high torque which functions to rotate a roller along the interior surface of the support surface of the wrist rest thus creating the up and down motion. The up and down motion can also be provided by a motor driven, internally mounted oblong roller that is mounted for rotation about its axis.

  • Patent number: 5466876
Abstract: Corrosion metal contaminants are removed from a liquid composition comprising a carboxylic acid and/or an anhydride thereof, a rhodium carbonylation catalyst, and a carbonylation catalyst co-promoter by using a chelating resin selective for the removal of corrosion metals rather than carbonylation catalyst and co-promoter.

  • Patent number: 5416237
Abstract: In a process for the production of acetic acid by carbonylation of methanol in the presence of a rhodium carbonylation catalyst, methyl iodide and an iodide salt stabiliser the improvement resides in maintaining a finite concentration of water of up to about 10% by weight and a methyl acetate concentration of at least 2% by weight in the liquid reaction composition and recovering the acetic acid product by passing the liquid reaction composition through a flash zone to produce a vapour fraction which is passed to a single distillation column from which an acetic acid product is removed.

  • Patent number: 5360929
Abstract: A process for the production of a carboxylic acid anhydride comprises contacting a reaction composition comprising a carboxylic acid ester, a hydrocarbyl halide and/or a hydrocarbyl ether reactant and a hydrocarbyl halide promoter with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising an insoluble polymer support having pendant quaternised N-base or alkylated N-oxide pyridine groups supporting a rhodium species in which process the rhodium species is prevented from leaching from the polymer support by maintaining throughout the process a finite concentration of carboxylic acid anhydride in the reaction composition.

  • Patent number: 5344976
Abstract: In a process for removing iodide compounds from a liquid composition comprising carboxylic acids having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or anhydrides thereof, by passing the liquid composition through a silver, mercury, palladium and/or rhodium-exchanged strong acid cation exchange resin, prior to contacting with the metal-exchanged resin the composition is contacted with a cation exchanger in the acid form to remove at least a portion of the metal ion contaminants in the liquid composition which have been found to displace the silver, mercury, palladium and/or rhodium from the metal-exchanged resin.
