  • Publication number: 20070260516
Abstract: A method and system for billing for online ad delivery services are disclosed. According to one aspect of the invention, an advertiser establishes an account with an online ad delivery service, and provides an initial amount of funds for the account. In addition, the advertiser establishes a budget limit for a specified budget period. As ads are served and clicked by end-users, a predetermined fee is debited from the advertiser's account. However, the ad server includes budget analysis logic to determine when to stop serving ads to ensure that the advertiser's budget limit is not exceeded, thereby ensuring that the advertiser's initial funds are not used up more quickly than desired.

  • Publication number: 20070214132
Abstract: Advertisements over a network, such as the Internet, by extracting an index file of suppliers of search result sets for a plurality of keywords and/or an index of ads to be placed. A keyword in a received query may be matched to the suppliers of related search result sets and/or the ads to be placed in the index file(s). The search results may be ranked based on various criteria such as yield, click through rates and history of dealings. Search result sets for the keywords from the matching suppliers and the ads to be placed may be combined to produce a search result set ranked in accordance with estimated yields for advertisements associated with each result in the search result set and delivered in response to the received query. The search results in the combined set may be reranked and/or repriced.

  • Publication number: 20070214050
Abstract: Delivering advertisements via the Internet may include extracting an index file, including a bid price, and a table of contents pointing to a start location of the keyword in the index file. Keywords in the query string may be matched to advertisements by searching the table of contents to locate the start location of that keyword in the index and matching that keyword to index file entries until a next indexed keyword is encountered. Advertisements may be matched based on an estimated yield and priced a price lower than the bid price that retains the ranking. A search result set including a link to the highest ranked advertisements may be used to respond to the query string. Each entry in the index file may include a set of preselected keywords, a text copy of the advertisement, a negative keyword to prevent a matching and/or click through rates.

  • Patent number: 7245932
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing real time updates of a database describing the features of individual terminals of a shared plan telecommunications group for communication sessions from and to that individual terminal. The characteristics (numbering plan, incoming and outgoing screening, alternate routing, types of service provided) of each of the individual stations of the shared communication plan are stored in a database accessed through a server. The database can be updated in real time by a designated one of the stations in the shared group. The designated station can also handle appeals for an exception to the restrictions stored in the database. The designated station can receive immediate or periodic information on activity of individual stations, or can receive such information on request.

  • Patent number: 7196691
Abstract: Systems for initiating the execution of a macro by simultaneously depressing multiple keys and for reducing the misclassification of keyboard input by distinguishing between rollovers in normal typing and the simultaneous depression of two keys. Only keystrokes that follow a pause are considered candidates for macro initiation. Keystrokes not separated by a pause are dispatched to the operating system for normal processing. If a user types in a normal fashion, no macro is recognized, and the user experiences no unexpected behavior. A user dictionary of macro definitions is used to determine whether the first keystroke is part of a macro input pair.

  • Patent number: 7088815
Abstract: An end user terminal (EUT), e.g., such as mobile terminal (MT) (20), is provided for connecting with an incoming call received over a communications network (A). Suitably, the EUT includes an alerting function and/or equipment that provides perceivable alerting in response to an incoming call attempting to connect with the EUT over the communications network (A). An alert sensor (AS) (22) detects an alerting status of the EUT, which is then communicated over the communications network (A), e.g., back to the calling EUT 50.

  • Patent number: 7013505
Abstract: A first playpen enclosure that converts easily to a bassinet, changing table or bed-side crib or “co-sleeper” that attaches securely to the parents' bed. A second enclosure support system maintains a padded enclosure and rigid floor panel at one or more predetermined levels below the top of the playpen to form the bassinet and co-sleeper. The second enclosure has a back, two sides, a bottom and a front flap that converts into a front wall for use in the bassinet mode and overhangs the front horizontal rail for use in the co-sleeper mode. The upper front corners are segmented into a movable section and a fixed section to facilitate lowering the front horizontal rail to at least one lower second position to accommodate various parental bed heights. Extensions of the fixed section are affixed to the front vertical rails and accept the movable sections in several positions to secure the rail in the second positions.

  • Patent number: 7006508
Abstract: A communication network (10) utilized for providing communications between a first party and a second party includes a surveillance server (26) within a core network (10) to provide communication surveillance capability. The core network (10) may be a packet data network, and the surveillance server (26) is operable responsive to trigger information to establish communications surveillance. Communication surveillance may be established by creating duplicate bearer packets of those data packets carrying the communicated data between the parties, creating duplicate control packets of those data packets carrying in-band or out-of-band call control information between the parties and within the packet data network, and/or various combinations thereof. The duplicate bearer packets and the duplicate control packets are routed to appropriate authorized law enforcement agencies for providing surveillance.

  • Patent number: 6990353
Abstract: An application server component of an apparatus in one example communicates to one or more mobile stations, of a plurality of mobile stations, one or more updates of one or more statuses of respective one or more mobile stations of the plurality of mobile stations. The plurality of mobile stations comprise a first mobile station and a second mobile station, wherein the one or more updates of the one or more statuses of the respective one or more mobile stations comprise an update of a status of the first mobile station. The application server component communicates the update of the status of the first mobile station to the second mobile station to indicate to the second mobile station whether the first mobile station is available for participation in a call with the second mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6940960
Abstract: Participants on a conference call are managed by terminating incoming calls at a conference bridge and storing a record for each call entering the conference call, each record including identification of the caller and a corresponding port number of the conference bridge assigned to the call. A list of all callers currently connected to the conference call is maintained. Upon receiving a request from an administrative host of the conference call, the list of current conference call participants is communicated to the host. Upon receipt of a disconnect request from the host identifying a first record associated with a first conference call participant to be disconnected, the first record a corresponding first port number is located, and the call associated with the first port number is disconnected.
