  • Patent number: 10788531
Abstract: An improved package device simulator for the testing of testing sockets, the package device simulator being formed of a first layer of non-conductive rigid substrate with a second layer formed of a plurality of electrically conductive traces being added thereto. A third layer of non-conductive rigid substrate is adhered to the first layer with the second layer being sealed there between. The third layer having a plurality of openings therein, wherein the openings align with and expose a portion of the electrically conductive traces of the second layer. Conductive binding material and contact balls are added to the openings and the chip is cured thereby fusing the contact balls with the exposed portions of the traces. Next, the exposed surfaces are coated with a hardening conductive material, such as layers of Nickel and/or Gold. In this way an improved package device simulator is formed that is durable, easier to manufacture and less expensive than a solid metallic package device simulator.

  • Publication number: 20140244762
Abstract: Techniques for assessing application quality and recommending applications to users are disclosed herein. A method according to the techniques monitors the users' activities of using the applications and records the usage information. The method further generates and randomly presents rating requests to users who are using the applications to solicit ratings of the applications. An application quality score for an application is calculated and updated based on the usage information and ratings for a group of users having common demographic or geographic attributes. The method automatically recommends an application to a user depending on the corresponding application quality score and a taste similarity score for the user calculated by a taste similarity algorithm based on the user's specific social network information.

  • Patent number: 8699189
Abstract: A high precision clipping regulator circuit includes a first protection diode, a second protection diode, a first offset clamp voltage regulator, and a second offset clamp voltage regulator. The first protection diode is configured to conduct when a voltage potential exceeds a first protection voltage magnitude, and is operable to exhibit variations in the first protection voltage magnitude. The second protection diode is configured to conduct when a voltage potential exceeds a second protection voltage magnitude, and is operable to exhibit variations in the second protection voltage magnitude. The first reference and second voltage regulator circuits are configured to determine when the first and second protection voltages vary and, in response thereto, to vary the first and second variable offset clamp voltages so that a difference in voltage across the protection diodes remains substantially constant.

  • Patent number: 7832395
Abstract: A portable breathable gas delivery device including a pressure vessel for storing the breathable gas under pressure and a valve coupled to the pressure vessel through which the breathable gas can be selectively released. The pressure vessel is enclosed in a housing having a first portion that at least partially encloses the pressure vessel and a second portion that partially encloses a chamber coupled to the pressure vessel via the valve into which the breathable gas can be released for breathing by a user. The second portion together with a user's facial structure forms a substantially closed enclosure. The chamber has an opening shaped and formed to interface with the user's facial structure.

  • Publication number: 20080032022
Abstract: A novel toasted flavor additive for enhancing the toasted flavor and appearance of food products. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, toasted corn flavor additive (“TCF”) is made by the steps of cooking whole corn kernels in a solution of lime and water; steeping the corn; draining and washing the corn; grinding, sheeting and cutting the corn into pieces; toasting the pieces until significant browning has occurred beyond the level normally associated with consumed masa products; and grinding the toasted pieces into a powder that can be administered as toasted corn flavor additive.

  • Publication number: 20070252044
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for active motion damping of a spacecraft whose attitude control system (SACS) has experienced a partial failure. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises, an attitude control processor (ACP), a motion damping controller (MDC) coupled to the ACP, a control moment gyro (CMG) comprising a gimbal loop controller (GLC) coupled to the MDC and a gimbal motor with input coupled to the GLC and gyroscopic torque output coupled to the satellite. Normally, a gimbal rate command (GRC) from the ACP passes to the GLC for execution to rotate the CMG gimbal and the coupled satellite. If the ACP output becomes invalid, the MDC assumes control and can modify CMG operation in several ways to safely decelerate a moving satellite without hazardous mechanical stress. Following such active motion damping, the CMG remains quiescent until a RESET is received whereby further valid GRCs are then executable.
