  • Patent number: 4960401
Abstract: A spinning top toy having minimal size and weight which when used in combination with a familiar commonplace coin exhibits significantly improved spinning and balancing properties. The toy can also be spun on its edge so that it can be raced across a flat surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 14, 1989
Date of Patent: October 2, 1990
    Inventor: Bruce Ross
  • Patent number: 4871340
Abstract: A hand held magnetic track toy having a rolling permanent magnet or magnets that depend on another permanent magnet for orientation of their magnetic poles and support on a track surface. The magnetic poles of the rolling permanent magnets are aligned in a similar direction and in parallel axes with respect to each other due to the influence of the magnetic poles of the other permanent magnet whereby the rolling permanent magnets are provided with the ability to travel at a high rate of speed on the track surface and perform intriguing bumping movements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 11, 1988
Date of Patent: October 3, 1989
    Inventor: Bruce Ross
  • Patent number: 4748756
Abstract: A picture frame enhanced with a light or sound generating device which is activated by a user touching a touch sensitive contact area that is incorporated as a part of the picture frame structure. Contact with the touch sensitve contact area is sensed by control circuitry which responds by activating and controlling the functioning of the light or sound enhancement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 23, 1987
Date of Patent: June 7, 1988
    Inventor: Bruce Ross
  • Patent number: 4642557
Abstract: A predetermined amount of erosion of a material conveying conduit or the like is detected by inserting a probe in the conduit wall, from the side opposite to that subjected to the wear, to a predetermined depth. The probe comprises an insulated conductor which is in electrical contact, at the base of the blind hole, with the conduit. Wear of the conduit down to the level of the probe may be determined by periodic continuity measurements, a lack of continuity indicating that the inserted end of the probe has been exposed.
