  • Publication number: 20040018044
Abstract: The connection system is for connecting structural elements of pieces of furniture, which structural elements include a plurality of support posts and a plurality of bars which are fastened to corresponding posts in accordance with predetermined geometrical configurations, to build a support structure for the above mentioned pieces of furniture. The connection system includes, for each post, a tube fastened to an end of the post, a plurality of connection annular elements for each connection between the bars and the posts, each one of the annular elements delimiting a hollow space provided for the coaxial coupling with a corresponding tube; and fastening means for fastening each bar to at least one connection annular element. The fastening means, in particular, include a side protrusion, for instance shaped like a dovetail, and a couple of mobile fastening clamps situated at the ends of the bar and designed for clamping the side protrusion for making a stable connection between the bar and the post.

  • Publication number: 20030226478
Abstract: A modular structure for furniture includes a tubular post formed by a pair of channel-bars disposed so that one faces the other and secured to each other by a base plate and a cross-bar. A series of longitudinal grooves, namely internal grooves made in the inner walls of the channel-bars, and external grooves made on the outer walls of the channel-bars. A support leg extends diagonally from an upper part of the post and is connected to the post by means of a connection member engaging one of the external grooves of the post. The cross-bar is formed by a “U”-shaped bar with an open side turned upwards, so as to form a channel closed at top by a cover element. The base plate and the cross-bar are connected to the post by means of connection pegs engaging the internal groove of the post. A bracket for supporting a working surface is fastened at bottom of the cross-bar by a clamp. A pair of counter-facing sides are joined to the post with a snap fit.

  • Publication number: 20030136316
Abstract: The proposed connecting system for modular structures, in particular tables and/or desks, includes a junction block, which features a pair of coplanar horizontal plates. Support and stabilization means of a pair of bars are connected to the horizontal plates. The support members support the junction block.

  • Publication number: 20030044228
Abstract: A connecting system for modular furniture structures includes an upright element with outer square cross-section giving the upright element four sides and four corners, featuring a trapezoidal or dovetail section longitudinal groove on each side. The longitudinal grooves gives the upright element longitudinal corners a quasi trapezoidal or dovetail shape. Trapezoidal connection small blocks are slidably inserted into the grooves and “C”-shaped clamps are slidably mounted along the longitudinal corners. Pin rods are fitted to both the trapezoidal connection small blocks and the “C”-shaped clamps by means of a threaded section forming also locking means for fixing the small blocks and clamps along the grooves and the corners. The pin rods have a circular groove all around and are introduced into bored small blocks fastened to furniture complementary structural elements and are fixed by means fo threaded dowels set in engagement with the circular grooves.

  • Publication number: 20020171016
Abstract: A structure for pieces of furniture of variable configuration includes a plurality of different types of assembling elements, which are coupled with one another, in a stable and removable way, to support a desktop at a predetermined distance from the ground. The types of assembling elements include a sleeve, hollow inside and equipped, in its lateral wall, with male quick connection joint means, formed by a pair of pins. Another element is a bar, aimed at coupling with a pair of the sleeves, and being equipped, at both extremities, with female quick connection joint means. The latter include a pair of blocks featuring a longitudinal hole, which receives the pins, and a through hole containing a dowel for locking the pins. The desktop is supported by desktop bearing brackets. Moreover, legs are fastened to the sleeves to support the bar and the sleeves at a predetermined distance from the ground.

  • Patent number: 6185975
Abstract: In an apparatus for cold bending a metal sheet for making an elongated article with a predetermined pro-file, supports are provided to receive opposite ends of the sheet being formed. A form, whose cross section defines a predetermined profile, is operated perpendicularly with respect to its longitudinal axis, so as to clamp the sheet, resting on the supports, to a stop. Bending members are carried by two plates which are mounted for oscillating on a vertical plane transversal to the form, so that the bending members rotate around spindles parallel to the stop plate. The bending members are operated in time relation with a synchronous movement of the form and of the stop, so as to fold the two ends of the sheet piece over the form.

  • Patent number: 5179853
Abstract: The method to manufacture sealing nipples or plugs comprises a cutting process of a disk-shaped element from a metal sheet followed by drawing of the disk to obtain a hollow element of cylindrical shape, closed at one end by a cap, and then pressing the hollow element to form an annular crown on the outer peripheral surface of it.Lastly the threading of at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface starting from the open end, is carried out.
