Abstract: A case (100) for an electronic device comprising: a front cover portion (101) including a first, external front cover panel comprising a hard material and a second external cover panel (101b), the second, smaller external cover panel (101b) and an internal, flexible material cover portion (104). The case comprises a rear portion (102) attached to the front cover portion (101), comprising an outer chassis portion (112) comprising the hard material and an inner chassis portion (114) comprising the flexible material, and one or more hinges (103) configured to allow the cover to open and close over an electronic device when the device is in the case (100), and wherein the one or more hinges (103) are formed by channel or groove (119) formed on an inside face of the flexible material cover portion. The case includes an opening (117) in the rear portion (102) case (100) to allow operation of a camera for the device, wherein the front cover when in a fully open position does not block the camera opening.

Abstract: A case for enclosing and remaining attached to a tablet-computing device may include a rigid inner portion and an outer portion attached thereto. The case may be customized to accommodate a particular kind or type of tablet-computing device and may include an aperture aligned within the case to accommodate a feature of the inserted tablet-computing device. The case may be configured to elevate a tablet-computing device to an angled position relative to a planar position and/or maintain the tablet-computing device in the angled position. In some embodiments, the rigid inner portion may be removable from the case.

Abstract: An apparatus configured for receiving a portable media player unit to cooperatively perform an accessory function with the player unit in a connected orientation contains at least a portion of an accessory unit. The portable media player unit presents an electrical connector structure. The apparatus includes: (a) a connecting structure for effecting electrical connecting with the electrical connector structure to establish the connected orientation; and (b) a receiving structure configured for supporting the player unit when the apparatus and the player unit are in the connected orientation. The connector unit is movable with respect to the apparatus to accommodate various orientations of the electrical connector structure presented by various models of the player unit in the connected orientation.

Abstract: A connector assembly for use with a cable or other device in order to make connections that are easily made and unmade. The connector has a body having a distal end at which is disposed a conductor assembly that will be used to make an electrical or other type of connection with a corresponding device. The body also has a proximal end for receiving the cable or other device that is being connected. This cable or other device connects to the conductor assembly within the connector body. The connector body forms a usually circular proximal flange at or near the point at which the cable or other device meets the connector. Adjacent the proximal flange is a portion of reduced dimensions that extends longitudinally toward the distal end and terminating at a main body portion of larger dimensions. The reduced-dimension portion forms an ideal area for gripping the connector in a manner that connections may easily be made and unmade even when the user performing this operation is unable to see the connector.
