Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

Abstract: A roaming service method in a mobile broadcasting system and a system thereof are provided. A terminal receives a service guide from a corresponding visited service provider (Visited SP) when the terminal moves to a roaming area. The terminal transmits a roaming request message for requesting a purchase item allowable for individual services to a home service provider (Home SP) based on the received service guide. Upon receipt of the roaming request message, the Home SP negotiates roaming availability and allowable scope for each individual service with the Visited SP where the terminal is located, based on the roaming request message. The Home SP transmits the roaming availability and allowable scope for the individual service, negotiated with the Visited SP, to the terminal.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating a Short Term Key Message (STKM) for protection of a broadcast service being broadcasted to a terminal in a mobile broadcast system. The method includes transmitting, by a Broadcast Service Subscription Management (BSM) for managing subscription information, at least one key information for authentication of the broadcast service to a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) for transmitting the broadcast service, generating, by the BSD/A, a Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) for deciphering of the broadcast service in the terminal and inserting the TEK into a partially created STKM, and performing, by the BSD/A, Message Authentication Code (MAC) processing on the TEK-inserted STKM using the at least one key information, thereby generating a completed STKM.

Abstract: A terminal and method for receiving a broadcast service by the terminal in a broadcast system are provided. The method includes performing a registration procedure for subscription and reception of the broadcast service through a Browser And Content Mobile Broadcast (BSCAST) Subscription Management (BSM) responsible for managing subscription information; receiving a Long Term Key Message (LTKM), including key information for encryption of the broadcast service, generated from the BSM; receiving a completed Short Term Key Message (STKM), the completed STKM being generated by performing Message Authentication Code (MAC) processing on a partially created STKM; receiving, from a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) which is responsible for transmitting the broadcast service, an encrypted broadcast service which is encrypted by a Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) for deciphering the broadcast service; and deciphering the encrypted broadcast service by the TEK obtained using the LTKM and the completed STKM.

Abstract: For digital rights management (DRM), a method for performing authentication between a device and a portable storage, which is performed by the device, includes transmitting a first key to the portable storage, receiving a third key and a first encrypted random number obtained by encrypting a first random number using the first key from the portable storage and decrypting the first encrypted random number using a second key related with the first key, generating a second encrypted random number by encrypting a second random number using the third key and transmitting the second encrypted random number to the portable storage, and generating a session key using the first random number and the second random number. The technique guarantees secure authentication between the device and the portable storage for DRM.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system supporting broadcast service (BCAST) are provided. In the mobile broadcast system, a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) manages subscriber information of a terminal, and transmits to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) a first delivery message including a Registration Key Material (RKM) provided for registration of the broadcast service of the terminal and including at least one service or content's identifier. The BSD/A transmits to the BSM a first delivery confirmation message including information indicating success/fail in receipt of the first delivery message, and transmits the RKM to the terminal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for copying or moving a rights object having right information regarding digital contents between a device and a portable storage device to copy or move the digital contents there between are provided. According to the method and apparatus, the digital works can be prevented from being recklessly and randomly copied and moved, and therefore, copyright can be protected. In addition, data loss or unauthorized access can be prevented.

Abstract: An authentication method of a storage device includes requesting an EID (Encoded IDentifer) to the storage device by an authentication device for authenticating the storage device, receiving the EID by the authentication device, restoring original ID information by decoding the received EID, and verifying individual ID information corresponding to use of the storage device included in ID information by using ID authentication information received from the storage device, wherein the ID information includes multiple pieces of individual ID information corresponding to the use of the storage device.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing a Digital Rights Management (DRM) service includes a Media Presentation Description (MPD) information configurer for determining a DRM system required in each of representations of content provided by an adaptive streaming service, classifying the representations into one or more groups according to predetermined criteria, and configuring MPD information by inserting content protection information including representation group information representing classified groups and information about DRM systems corresponding to the representation group information; and a communication unit for transmitting the MPD information to a user terminal receiving the content.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for authenticating a non-volatile memory device are provided. The method includes sending, to the memory device, a request for an Enhanced Media Identification (EMID) for identifying the memory device, by an EMID decoder for authenticating the memory device; receiving the requested EMID changed by a preset calculation of the EMID with an optional value from the memory device; and restoring the EMID by decoding the received changed EMID.

Abstract: A method and a non-volatile memory apparatus for cloning prevention is provided. When the stepped multimedia service is executed, the device obtains the access information satisfying the access condition corresponding to a corresponding stage from the right issuer or a service provider and then transfers the access information to the RO, allowing a user to access the RO and execute a service of the corresponding stage by using the RO.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for providing a DRM service in a user terminal apparatus providing an adaptive streaming service. Content protection information is received that includes information about multiple DRM systems applied to specific content provided using the adaptive streaming service. A specific DRM system is selected from among the multiple DRM systems. A license corresponding to the specific DRM system is acquired. The license includes an encryption key capable of decrypting the specific content. The specific content is decrypted using the acquired license.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for sharing a service guide or a service guide fragment in a mobile broadcast system supporting a mobile broadcast service. A Broadcast Service Provisioning Client Function (BSP-C) sends a request for the service guide or service guide fragment to a Broadcast Service Provisioning Management Function (BSP-M). The BSP-M transmits the service guide or service guide fragment to the BSP-C if the BSP-M has the service guide or service guide fragment.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling content playback by a terminal in a content delivery system. The method includes receiving streaming content from a service provider, the streaming content including zone information of each zone and an associated identifier of each zone for identifying a terminal's operation mode, determining the terminal's operation mode depending on the identifier, and controlling playback of the streaming content in a zone corresponding to the zone information according to the determined operation mode.
