Abstract: A method and system for registration with a broadcast server is provided. A request from a smartcard terminal for registration is received and the smartcard terminal is authenticated based on the request. Further, A specific key material, Ks_NAF, is generated in response to the request. At least one of registering the smartcard terminal with the Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) server and with the broadcast server simultaneously, and registering the smartcard terminal with the IMS server and subsequently with the broadcast server through the IMS server, is performed. At least one of notifying the IMS server of status of the registration by the broadcast server, and notifying the broadcast server of the status of the registration by the IMS server, is performed.

Abstract: A system in which a source device can withdraw a Rights Object (RO) that a source device requested a target device to move through a Rights Issuer (RI) and operation method thereof are provided. The method includes transmitting a rights object withdrawal request message to a rights issuing server by a device, transmitting a rights object withdrawal response message to the device by the rights issuing server in response to the rights object withdrawal request message, and withdrawing and installing a corresponding rights object when receiving the rights object withdrawal response message by the device.

Abstract: A license consignment method and system for a portable device playing a right-protected content with a license is provided for improving utilization reliability and manageability of a license by enabling a license server to manage the license consigned by the portable device. The method includes selecting a license to be consigned to a license server, transmitting the license server license information corresponding to the selected license, and transmitting, when the license is not downloaded in a certain time, a download trigger message to the portable device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of recording and storing a broadcast content received for mobile broadcast services in a transmitting-end level. A broadcast receiving terminal includes a type of the key profile in the header of the recorded file for the particular broadcast content, the CIEK which is used in encrypting the broadcast content and encrypted with the second layer encryption key, and the acquisition information on the second layer encryption key. The acquisition information on the second layer encryption key is included in a corresponding field of the header according to the type of the used profile. As in the SRTP and IPSec, a recorded file format in the transmitting-end level recording is the PDCF. Information associated with the encryption of the encrypted broadcast content is stored in the OMA DRM common header box (ohdr box) of the PDCF recorded file.

Abstract: A method for receiving a broadcast service through a plurality of terminals in a mobile broadcasting system supporting the broadcast service is provided. The method includes sending a registration request message for requesting registration of each of a plurality of terminals from a server associated with a broadcast service, receiving a registration response message from the server in response to each registration request message, sending a service request message to the server through one terminal of the plurality of terminals to request that the broadcast service be provided to the remaining terminals, and receiving, by the remaining terminals, a service response message from the server and the broadcast service.

Abstract: A rights objects acquisition method of a mobile terminal in a digital right management system is provided for acquiring multiple rights objects in a composite manner. An objects right acquisition method of a mobile terminal may include generating, in response to a group rights object (RO) acquisition command, a group rights object acquisition request with content identifiers assigned to individual contents corresponding to the rights objects indicated by the group rights object acquisition command, sending the group rights object acquisition request to a rights issuer; and receiving an group rights object acquisition response containing rights object identifiers assigned to the rights objects from the rights issuer. The present invention streamlines the RO acquisition process, especially when acquiring multiple ROs.

Abstract: A method of authenticating a content provider and assuring content integrity by which the content provider is authenticated and the content integrity is assured upon download, exchange or transfer of a variety of multimedia contents through a wired/wireless communication network. The method of authenticating the content provider and assuring the content integrity, including downloading packaged contents with an electronic signature made thereto into a device of a user through a wired/wireless communication network, finding a URL address from which a certificate for verification of a signature of the content provider is provided, in a header of the contents, acquiring the certificate of the content provider after moving to the URL address, extracting a public key required for the verification of the electronic signature from the acquired certificate, and verifying the electronic signature by using the extracted public key.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for giving and taking an RO for a content between devices are provided. The provided method includes both a method for directly giving and taking the RO between devices and a method for giving and taking the RO through a network server. Accordingly, the apparatus, system and method provide the capability of giving and taking an RO between respective devices and improve the ability expand functions.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for generating a Short Term Key Message (STKM) for protection of a broadcast service being broadcasted to a terminal in a mobile broadcast system. The method includes transmitting, by a Broadcast Service Subscription Management (BSM) for managing subscription information, at least one key information for authentication of the broadcast service to a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) for transmitting the broadcast service, generating, by the BSD/A, a Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) for deciphering of the broadcast service in the terminal and inserting the TEK into a partially created STKM, and performing, by the BSD/A, Message Authentication Code (MAC) processing on the TEK-inserted STKM using the at least one key information, thereby generating a completed STKM.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for sharing a service guide or a service guide fragment in a mobile broadcast system supporting a mobile broadcast service. A Broadcast Service Provisioning Client Function (BSP-C) sends a request for the service guide or service guide fragment to a Broadcast Service Provisioning Management Function (BSP-M). The BSP-M transmits the service guide or service guide fragment to the BSP-C if the BSP-M has the service guide or service guide fragment.

Abstract: A method of receiving by a mobile station an encrypted form of broadcast service content broadcasted by a service provider (SP). The method includes receiving at least one encryption key from the SP, receiving a broadcast control message comprising a second encryption key, and decrypting the broadcast control message with the at least one encryption key to obtain the second encryption key. The method further includes receiving the encrypted form of the broadcast service content and decrypting the encrypted broadcast service content by a process involving use of the second encryption key.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system supporting broadcast service (BCAST) are provided. In the mobile broadcast system, a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) manages subscriber information of a terminal, and transmits to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) a first delivery message including a Registration Key Material (RKM) provided for registration of the broadcast service of the terminal and including at least one service or content's identifier. The BSD/A transmits to the BSM a first delivery confirmation message including information indicating success/fail in receipt of the first delivery message, and transmits the RKM to the terminal.

Abstract: A mobile broadcast system for delivering a notification event for generation of a notification message for information provisioning to a subscriber receiving a broadcast service is provided. The mobile broadcast system includes a first apparatus for managing subscriber information of the broadcast service, handling generation of at least one notification message according to at least one notification event, and generating a response message indicating generation end of the notification message; and a second apparatus for sending a notification event message for requesting generation of the notification message to the first apparatus according to the at least one notification event, receiving the response message in response thereto, and then handling delivery of the notification message over a broadcast channel or an interaction channel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for transmitting information necessary for generation of a notification event for a mobile broadcast (BCAST) service in a wireless communication system. A request message is generated including notification event information and appropriate attributes indicating a change in the BCAST service, and is transmitted to a Notification Event Function (NTE) in a BCAST Service Application block, which generates a notification event, and transmits a response message indicating the generation result to the CC. The NTE transmits the notification event to a function in a BCAST Subscription Management block to generate a notification message indicating the notification event, to be transmitted to a terminal receiving the BCAST service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for transmitting information necessary for the generation of a service guide for a mobile broadcast service in a broadcast system supporting the mobile broadcast service. A Content Creation (CC) block transmits a service guide request message including various sources necessary for the generation of a service guide to a Service Guide Application Source (SGAS). The SGAS transmits the service guide request message to a Service Guide Generation (SG-G) unit over a backend interface. The SG-G generates a service guide using various sources included in the service guide request message, and transmits a service guide generation completion message indicating completion of the generation of the service guide to the SGAS.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for providing a service guide for a mobile broadcast (BCAST) service in a wireless communication/broadcast system supporting the BCAST service. If there is a need to provide a service guide in the mobile broadcast system, a Service Guide Subscription Source (SGSS) delivers a subscription and provisioning source, and a purchase and promotional source, to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation block. The BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation block then generates and provides a service guide using the sources.

Abstract: A roaming service method in a mobile broadcasting system and a system thereof are provided. A terminal receives a service guide from a corresponding visited service provider (Visited SP) when the terminal moves to a roaming area. The terminal transmits a roaming request message for requesting a purchase item allowable for individual services to a home service provider (Home SP) based on the received service guide. Upon receipt of the roaming request message, the Home SP negotiates roaming availability and allowable scope for each individual service with the Visited SP where the terminal is located, based on the roaming request message. The Home SP transmits the roaming availability and allowable scope for the individual service, negotiated with the Visited SP, to the terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed is an inter-entity coupling method for protecting content in a broadcast environment including a broadcast network and a terminal, the broadcast network having a Broadcast Service Application (BSA), a Broadcast Service Distribution (BSD), and a Broadcast Service Management (BSM), the inter-entity coupling method including performing, by the terminal, a registration process for obtaining a group key for the terminal; after the registration process is completed, performing, by the terminal, a service joining process for requesting service joining, and receiving, by the terminal, a Rights Object (RO) about the content from a message, which is received in response to the request, based on the obtained group key; obtaining a traffic key by using the RO, if a traffic key message is received after the service joining process is completed; receiving encrypted content in the terminal; and decrypting the encrypted content by using the traffic key.

Abstract: Disclosed is an inter-entity coupling method for service protection in a broadcast environment including a terminal and a broadcast network, which includes a Broadcast Service Application (BSA), a Broadcast Service Distribution (BSD) and a Broadcast Service Management (BSM) function. The method includes executing enrollment and service joining procedures for the terminal, wherein the terminal acquires a group key in the enrollment procedure and acquires a Rights Object (RO) for the service in the service joining procedure; receiving a message including a traffic key in the terminal; acquiring the traffic key from the message using the RO; receiving an encrypted service encrypted by the BSD in the terminal; and decrypting the encrypted service using the traffic key in the terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method, a system and a terminal apparatus for reproducing content purchased by a user in a plurality of terminals. To this end, a Right Object (RO) is received through an authentication process for content and a service registration process, and is stored in a User Identity Module (UIM). If the UIM is used, a user can use corresponding content in a plurality of terminals through one-time registration. Accordingly, the user having completed the registration can reproduce content in multiple terminals owned by the user based on user identification by means of a license acquired through the registration regardless of a specific terminal, instead of reproducing the content only in a single terminal to which a license has been bound.
