  • Patent number: 8347667
Abstract: A locking paddle handle assembly for closures has a housing with a paddle handle pivotally mounted therein, a latch which latches and unlatches the closure upon rotation of the paddle handle, and a exterior key lock with a movable member that shifts between locked and unlocked positions. A latch lock selectively engages the latch, such that when the movable key lock member is in the locked position, the latch is retained in the latched position, wherein the closure cannot be opened. A deadbolt lock selectively engages the closure frame in the locked position to positively retain the closure closed. Both the latch lock and the deadbolt lock are operably connected with the movable key lock member, such that movement of the latter between the latched and unlatched positions contemporaneously shifts both the latch lock and the deadbolt lock between the locked and unlocked positions.

  • Publication number: 20120192602
Abstract: A lock assembly for a closure comprises a housing, a handle pivotally mounted in an exterior portion of the housing and a latch operably connected with the handle. A key lock mounted on the exterior portion of the housing has a locked and an unlocked position. A lock cam rotatably mounted in the housing is operably connected with the key lock for rotation therewith. A deadbolt lock is operably connected to the lock cam via a crank arm and a link to a motor. An electronic touchpad mounted on the exterior portion of the housing is operatively connected with the motor, whereby entry of a preselected numerical code actuates the motor and contemporaneously shifts the deadbolt lock between locked and unlocked positions.

A remotely operable controller may be mounted either horizontally or vertically relative the handle assembly and is operably connected to a multi-armed lock cam to power shift the deadbolt lock between the locked and unlocked positions from a remote location.

  • Patent number: 8120924
Abstract: A reprogrammable subscriber terminal of a subscription television service which can have the control program code of its control processor modified by downloading new program code from the headend. The control processor stores a boot program in an internal read only memory. Upon start up and resets, the boot program determines whether the control program should be changed from a command sent from the headend. The command, termed a parameters transactions, includes the number of expected download program code transactions required to complete the control code modification, the memory space areas where the code is to be loaded, and the channel over which the download program code transactions are to be transmitted. The channel is tuned and when the boot program receives all the download program code transactions accurately and stores them, the boot program will cause the control program to be restarted at a selected address of the new or modified control program code which has been downloaded.

  • Publication number: 20120031543
Abstract: A method is disclosed for using discarded carpet segments or other recycled textiles to make wood-like material in sheets that are comparable to plywood. The carpet segments or other recycled materials are shredded, then layered across a slow-moving conveyor to form a thick, low-density belt of fibers. This belt is compressed between rollers, and then needle-punched, using needles with surface barbs that pull fibers downward and upward. This needle-punching causes fibers inside the mat to be pulled into vertical alignment (i.e., perpendicular to the top and bottom surfaces of a horizontal mat), to form a needle-punched mat that will hold together without chemical adhesives. A binder material is then applied to at least one and possibly both surfaces of the mat, by means such as spreading or spraying a liquid binder on either or both surfaces of the mat, or stretching a continuous film of the binder material across either or both surfaces of the mat.

  • Patent number: 8065966
Abstract: An odd link work surface lift has a foundation with spaced front and back pivots, has a first link pivotally connected with the front pivot and extending to a first end, has a second link pivotally connected with the first end and extending to a second end, has a mounting bracket pivotally connected with the second end and extending to a terminal end, and a traveler link pivotally connected with the back pivot and extending to a cam follower. The mounting bracket has a curvilinear cam surface at the terminal end. The cam follower travels along the cam surface in abutting engagement. A length from the second end to the terminal end is materially greater than a length between the spaced front and back pivots.

  • Patent number: 8069348
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for inserting programs into broadcasted primary programs by a conditional access (CA) module that is inserted into a host device, such as a digital-ready television. The CA module utilizes primary and secondary program map tables and/or primary and secondary packet identifiers. A splicer splices the secondary packet identifiers, which is associated with a secondary program, into the primary packet identifiers, which is associated with a program, such as a broadcasted program. Additionally, the CA module may contain memory that is capable of storing the secondary program's packet identifiers and/or program map table that can be used for insertion into the primary program.

  • Patent number: 7976655
Abstract: Discarded or recycled carpets or other textiles can be converted into wood-like materials, in sheets comparable to plywood. The carpets or textiles are shredded, combed, and layered across a conveyor to form a low-density mat, which is compressed and needle-punched to create a cohesive but flexible mat. An adhesive is applied to at least one and preferably two or more mats, by an applicator that spreads a liquid prepolymer onto one or more surfaces of the mat(s). The mat(s) travel through a press while the adhesive cures and hardens, and the use of foaming adhesives can ensure uniform permeation through dense fiber mats. The hardened sheets can be sawed, nailed, and otherwise handled like wood, and are strong, durable, and highly resistant to damage by water or insects.

  • Publication number: 20100171326
Abstract: A lockable handle assembly has a base mounted stationary in an associated closure with a laterally extending lock bolt slot. A handle is rotatably mounted in the base, and is operably connected with an associated door latch. A lock cylinder is rotatably mounted in the handle for selective rotation between locked and unlocked positions. A lock cam is rotatably mounted in the handle, is operably connected with the lock cylinder, and has an arcuate cam surface. A rigid lock bolt is slidably mounted in the handle and is configured such that rotation of the lock cylinder between the locked and unlocked positions laterally shifts the lock bolt into and out of the lock bolt slot in the base to selectively prevent and permit rotation of the handle and unlatching of the closure.
