  • Publication number: 20150236026
Abstract: Recording data in a permanent solid state memory device forms voids in a patterned data layer between a first wire array and a second wire array. Wires of the first wire array extend transversely to wires in the second wire array thus creating a crossbar array. The conductive material in the data layer is made of a carbon allotrope such that when current is passed through the carbon allotrope, the carbon is quickly oxidized (burned) leaving a complete gap (void) where the conductive material (i.e., fuse) once was. One of the advantages of this method is that the fuse material is fully oxidized, such that there is no material left over from which dendrites can grow. A horizontal configuration in which the data layer is a bowtie structure is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9110998
Abstract: In a hierarchical profile, each node represents at least one feature of behavioral data collected about an entity profiled, with the topmost node selected as the “statistically most informative” feature of the data. A profile can cover numerous domains and be predictively very powerful in each domain. A number of observations can be “aggregated” together into a single datapoint. In use, the structure of the profile is compared against current information associated with the entity to produce a recommendation or prediction. If the profile represents at least some data aggregation, then new observations are folded into the profile based on statistical weights of the aggregations. Because of the way the profile is created and updated, its hierarchical structure maps the collected observations. Therefore, as new observations are incorporated, if the new observations change the profile's structure significantly, then it can be hypothesized that something “interesting” has happened to the entity.

  • Publication number: 20150215340
Abstract: In illustrative embodiments, methods in accordance with the present invention utilize a thin kernel module operating in the kernel space of an operating system to redirect all TCP flows to user space for application analysis and processing. Redirected data is presented to the user space application as a data stream, allowing the processing of information contained within the data stream from the user space on a mobile device. This allows the user space application to inspect and take action on incoming data before allowing the data to continue to pass through the device. This enables parental controls, firewalls, real-time anti-virus scanning, tethering/hot-spot, bandwidth optimization, and similar programs to effectively operate across different mobile devices as user downloadable/actuatable applications.

  • Patent number: 9077564
Abstract: A short-range wireless communication network may be established by direct communication between two or more wireless communication devices. A conventional cellular telephone includes an integrated short-range transceiver. The short-range transceivers of multiple wireless communication devices can be coupled together to form a short-range communication network without utilizing any wireless communication network supported by wireless service providers. The short-range communication network may be extended as additional devices come within range or consolidated as wireless communication devices leave the communication range. The short-range communication network is built upon the proximity of wireless communication devices with each other. Data is disseminated between the wireless communication devices using a data message synchronization process. Messages may also be carried from one wireless network to another as the communication devices are carried by individuals.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine system is provided. The system includes an engine defining a combustion chamber, a clean emission module and an air supply unit. The clean emission module is fluidly connected to an exhaust conduit from the combustion chamber. The air supply unit is configured to supply air into the combustion chamber and includes a compressor and a flow control device provided between the compressor and the combustion chamber. The compressor is configured to receive air from an air inlet via a first passage and supply the compressed air into the combustion chamber via a second passage. The flow control device is configured to selectively reduce the supply of compressed air into the combustion chamber such that an air fuel ratio in the combustion chamber is maintained between 15:1 to 18:1 at 20-90% engine load during a regeneration period for the clean emissions module.
