  • Patent number: 7912893
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product is provided for publishing transcoded media content in response to publishing service requests from end users. A user request for media content is processed intelligently, either by directing the processing of the request to one of a set of transcoding servers so as to effectively balance the load among the servers, or by directing the processing of the request to an appropriate alternative means for satisfying the request. Transcoding tasks can be prioritized. In order to facilitate server selection, the current load on any particular transcoding server can be monitored in conjunction with a determination of the load to be created by a transcoding task. Transcoding can be performed on-demand or in a batch mode. Alternatively, a request can be satisfied by distributing media content that has already been transcoded and is resident in cache memory in anticipation of such requests.

  • Patent number: 7880115
Abstract: A method for forming an epitaxial layer in a capacitor over interconnect structure, includes selecting a laser having a suitable wavelength for absorption at a seeding layer/annealing layer interface of the capacitor over interconnect structure, and directing laser energy from the selected laser at the capacitor over interconnect structure. The laser energy anneals a feature of the capacitor over interconnect structure to form an epitaxial layer. The annealing is accomplished at a temperature below about 450° C. The selected laser can be an excimer laser using a pulse extender. The capacitor over interconnect structure can be a ferroelectric capacitor formed over a conventional CMOS structure.

  • Publication number: 20100296559
Abstract: In one embodiment, a networking device may include a network port and be configured to receive a transceiver module card in the network port. The networking device may detect whether the transceiver module card is a single channel card or a multi-channel card, where the single channel card includes a single transceiver module and the multi-channel card includes multiple transceiver modules. The networking device may transmit data to the transceiver card either as a single channel de-multiplexed over multiple lanes or as multiple independent channels corresponding to the multiple lanes based on whether the transceiver module card is the single channel card or the multi-channel card. The networking device may transmit data over each of the lanes at one data rate regardless whether of the transceiver module card is the single channel card or the multi-channel card.

  • Publication number: 20080228585
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for presenting personalized information to consumers in a retail environment. A personalized price is determined for at least one product that is in physical proximity to the customer. The physical proximity may be determined, for example, by evaluating identifiers, such as RHD tags, associated with each customer and product. A personalized message can be also presented to a customer regarding at least one product that is in physical proximity to the customer. The personalized message can provide, for example, dietary or safety information relevant to the customer and at least one product in the proximity of the customer. • Patent number: 7319213
Abstract: Indentation patterns in microwave packaging materials can enhance the baking and browning effects of the microwave packaging materials on food. The indentation patterns can provide venting to either channel moisture from one area of the food product to another, trap moisture in a certain area to prevent it from escaping, or channel the moisture completely away from the food product. The indentation patterns can cause the microwave packaging material underneath a food product to be slightly elevated above the cooking platform in the base of a microwave. The indentation patterns can lessen the heat sinking effect of the cooking platform by providing an air gap for insulation. Elevating the base of the microwave packaging material further allows more incident microwave radiation to propagate underneath the microwave packaging material to be absorbed by the food product or by microwave interactive materials in the microwave packaging material that augment the heating process.

  • Patent number: 7310578
Abstract: A system (18) includes: a) A vehicle (12) includes an attitude or angular velocity control system (38), a plurality of star trackers or star sensors (22) each having a field of view (28); b) a memory (30) having a star catalog (32), a star pair catalog (58) and a reference table (56) stored therein; and c) a processor (24) coupled to the attitude or angular velocity control system (38), the star trackers or star sensors (22), and the memory (30). The processor (24) determines the vehicle inertial attitude or angular velocity or sensor alignment, based, in part, on the star pair catalog (58) and reference table (56). The design of the star pair catalog (58) and reference table (56) is suitable for rapid determination of attitude or angular velocity or sensor alignment, and an efficient use of memory.

  • Patent number: 7228231
Abstract: A vehicle (12) including a control system (18) is used for controlling vehicle attitude or angular velocity (38). The processor (24) is coupled to a star sensor or tracker (22) and a memory (30) that may include a star catalog (32), and an exclusion list (36). The exclusion list (36), a list of stars to be temporarily excluded from consideration when determining attitude or angular velocity or relative alignment of star sensors or trackers, is calculated on board. Such a calculation prevents the necessity for a costly, periodic, ground calculation and upload of such data. By manipulating the star catalog, or sub-catalogs derived from said catalog, based upon the exclusion list (36), measurements of such excluded stars are prevented from corrupting the attitude or angular velocity or alignment estimates formulated on board. The system uses multiple stayout zones for excluding stars from the exclusion list.

The processor (24) populates the star pair catalog (58), using the method described herein. The processor (24) then periodically determines the vehicle inertial attitude or angular velocity or sensor alignment, based, in part, on the star pair catalog (58) and reference table (56). The novel ability of the software to autonomously populate the star pair catalog (58) allows users to avoid uploading a large amount of data, and the problems associated with such an upload.
